Introduction of Gushan Temple Scenic Spot
Since the year of Zheng Deyuan in the Ming Dynasty (1506), buildings centered on Gushan Temple have been built on Gushan Mountain. According to historical records, there was once a "Yun Nie" stone square halfway up the southern slope of Gushan Mountain, and couplets were engraved on the stone pillars on both sides: At this point, the Yangtze River smoke is everywhere, which is the best place in the West Lake. Inscriptions and couplets were written by Jingjiang magistrate in the forty-second year of Wanli in Ming Dynasty (16 14). It can be seen that Nie Fangyun has a history of nearly 400 years and is the earliest existing stone workshop in Jingjiang City. Under the square, there is a cliff stone carving of "the third Taoist priest Zi Yibozhen of Jiajing Xu Bing Xia Hunan prayed for rain here", which is a memorial of the third Taoist priest Zi Yibozhen of Jiajing Xu Bing Xia Hunan praying for rain here in the Ming Dynasty (1526). Not far from the east of Nie Yunfang, there is a shrine of the holy emperor, which turns west to the north gate. There is Sanmao Zhenjun Temple in the east, xianrentai in the west, and Kannonji among the cypresses. Due north, there is a heavy gate. Enter Chongmen and go to Dongyue Palace, which is the main hall of Gushan Temple. There are hundreds of Buddha statues in the temple, resplendent and magnificent.
