Appreciation of Seven Works
There is such a love story in "Seven Fafu": The king of Chu is ill, and Wu Ke goes to visit him. Through mutual questions and answers, seven paragraphs were formed. Wu Ke believed that the cause of the king of Chu was excessive greed and endless enjoyment, which could not be cured by ordinary drugs and acupuncture, but could only be "spoken with words and wisdom". So he described the pleasures of music, diet, riding, feasting, hunting and watching waves, and gradually induced the prince to change his lifestyle. Finally, I want to introduce the "alchemist" to the prince. "On the exquisiteness of the world, I care about the right and wrong of everything", and the prince soon recovered. The main purpose of the work is to persuade aristocratic children not to indulge in ease and enjoyment too much, and to express the author's dissatisfaction with the decadent indulgence of aristocratic groups.
At the beginning of the article, "The King of Chu had a disease, and Wu Ke asked about it", and then from this word "disease", a series of amazing comments were triggered. Wu Ke didn't say a flattering word in front of the King of Chu, but confidently told the King of Chu, "Your illness is very serious, and there is no medicine to cure it. The root of the disease is that you are addicted to wine, wine, dogs and horses every day and play too much. Such vulgar and decadent material stimulation has created an empty spiritual realm: then the disease broke out in your empty spiritual realm. So, you are depressed and unable to extricate yourself. Finally, you are dying, and the medicine stone is invalid. " Here, what is the source of King Chu's illness? Then describe the advantages and disadvantages from the perspectives of music, diet, horses and chariots, palace gardens, hunting, Taoist temple, etc., and inspire the king of Chu to establish a correct attitude towards life. Then at the end of the article, I put forward the way to preserve the health of the king of Chu, the so-called "wisdom words". He reminded the king of Chu to focus on discussing the subtlety of the world and managing the right and wrong of everything with people of insight. We should constantly enrich our knowledge and resist the decadent and ignorant lifestyle with high cultural literacy. So on say, the prince Chu suddenly broke out in a big sweat, "Huo Ran is ill", and the disease is easy to handle. This proves that the "punch line" in the seven hairs is the only way to treat King Chu's disease.
The beauty of Qi method lies in exploring the dialectical relationship between matter and spirit with artistic images. A high level of material civilization, if not matched by a high level of spiritual civilization, is a defect after all, and even various "diseases" will breed in this defect. One person is like this, and by extension, so is the whole nation.
Seven hairs is a psychological method, which successfully cured the prince's serious illness of material life and spiritual emptiness by telling him extensive and powerful vivid facts about the world.
The artistic feature of "Seven Hairs" is to describe things in an all-round way with exaggeration, rich vocabulary, gorgeous words, broad structure and great momentum. Liu Xie said: "Mei Cheng is gorgeous, with a first production of seven hairs, full of good words and magnificent momentum." (Essay on Carving Dragons with Literary Mind) Although the system and description technique of Qi Mao have the characteristics of prose-style great fu of later generations, unlike the great fu of later generations, he is good at describing things realistically with vivid metaphors. For example, in the paragraph about Fu, many vivid metaphors are used to vividly describe the turbulent situation, such as: "When it rises, it rains cats and dogs, and when it falls, it flies. Not so advanced, and vast, like a white horse with an ordinary car. Its waves are turbulent and clouds are chaotic, such as the disturbance of the three armies. People running on the sidelines are like elite soldiers. " Another example is that in Fu, the beauty of music is expressed by exaggeration and exaggeration, and the magnificent school hunting scene is written as a clear and sonorous sentence, which is also quite excellent. Structurally, Qifa tells the same thing in seven completely different paragraphs, step by step, step by step, and finally shows the theme, which is central, hierarchical and varied, unlike the later General Fu. The appearance of "Qi Fa" in Meicheng marks the formal formation of prose style in Han Dynasty. Later, many works were written in the style of "Seven Hair", such as Yi Fu's Miracle, Zhang Heng's Seven Debates, RoyceWong's Seven History, Cao Zhi's Qi Qi Qi, Lu Ji's Zheng Qi and Zhang Xie's Seven Lives. Therefore, in the history of fu, "seven" has become a special body.
Brief introduction of the author
Mei cheng (? ~ about 140) a writer of ci and fu in Han dynasty. Zishu was born in Huaiyin Wharf Town (now Huai 'an, Jiangsu). I have a strong interest in literature since I was a child, and I became famous for writing ci and fu. He used to be a doctor (literary attendant) of Wu Wang Liu Bi. Mei Cheng is not only good at writing, but also courageous. When he learned that Liu Bi was planning a rebellion against the imperial court, he wrote a letter to dissuade him. If he failed, he resolutely left Wu Touliang and was regarded as a VIP by Liang Xiaowang and Liu Wu. Later, I wrote to the king of Wu, but it was still invalid. In BC 154, Liu Bi joined forces with six other countries to rebel against the imperial court. As a result, it was pacified by Han Jing in just three months. Mei Cheng was famous for remonstrating and was appointed as a captain of Hongnong, but he didn't want to be a local official, so he resigned and returned to Keju Liang. After Liu Wu died, he returned to his hometown to live. After Emperor Wudi ascended the throne, he was recruited to the capital Chang 'an and died on the way. According to Hanshu, there are 9 poems written by Mei Cheng, and 3 poems have been handed down from generation to generation. Among them, Qi Mao is found in Xiao Tong's Selected Works, Liu Fu is found in Xijing Miscellanies, and Liang Wang Tu Fu Yuan is found in Guwenyuan. The latter two books are suspected to be forgeries, and only 70 cents is recognized as reliable.
