How to check gonococcus? Before we know how to check Neisseria gonorrhoeae, let's look at its pathogenic mechanism: the pathogenic mechanism of Neisseria gonorrhoeae is complicated, and its virulence is related to some components of pili, capsule, lipopolysaccharide and outer membrane protein. So how to check gonococcus?

The lga 1 protease produced by Neisseria gonorrhoeae can cleave human lga 1, so it is also a virulence factor that cannot be ignored. The antibody produced by Neisseria gonorrhoeae lga 1 protease has the activity of neutralizing enzyme, which can neutralize the activity of meningococcus and some influenza bacteria lga 1 protease.

Humans are the only natural hosts of gonococcus, and gonorrhea is mainly transmitted through sexual contact. Neisseria gonorrhoeae invades the urogenital system to reproduce, and urethritis occurs in men and urethritis and cervicitis occur in women. If the treatment is not thorough, it will spread to the reproductive system. Fetuses can be infected through the birth canal, leading to neonatal gonorrhea and acute conjunctivitis. Humans have no natural immunity to Neisseria gonorrhoeae and are susceptible. After getting sick, their immunity is not strong and they can't prevent reinfection.

How to check gonococcus? There are two ways:

One: culture examination Neisseria gonorrhoeae culture is an important evidence for diagnosis. Culture method is a sensitive method for male and female patients with mild or asymptomatic symptoms, and diagnosis can be made as long as the culture is positive. Before the advent of genetic diagnosis, culture was the only method recommended by the World Health Organization to screen gonorrhea. At present, the recommended selection media abroad are improved Thayer-Martin(TM) medium and new york (NYC) medium. In China, chocolate agar or blood agar medium is used, both of which contain antibiotics, which can selectively inhibit the growth of many other bacteria. Culture (candle jar) in the environment of 36℃, 70% humidity and 5% ~ 10% carbon dioxide, and observe the results for 24 ~ 48h hours. After culture, colony morphology, Gram staining, oxidase test and sugar fermentation test should be identified. The positive rate of male culture is 80% ~ 95%, and that of female culture is 80% ~ 90%.

Two: Take the urethral secretion or cervical secretion of the patient for smear examination and do Gram staining, and find Gram-negative diplococcus in polymorphonuclear leukocytes. There are many mixed bacteria in female cervical secretions, and the sensitivity and specificity are poor. The positive rate is only 50% ~ 60%, and there are false positives. Therefore, the World Health Organization recommends using culture to examine female patients. There are few gonococci in chronic gonorrhea secretion, and the positive rate is low. It is necessary to take prostate massage to improve the detection rate. Gram-negative diplococcus found in throat smear can not diagnose gonorrhea, because other Neisseria species are normal flora in pharynx. In addition, smear positive with atypical symptoms should be further examined.

The above is the introduction of how to check Neisseria gonorrhoeae, hoping to help everyone. While we know how to check Neisseria gonorrhoeae, we should also do a good job in prevention and treatment.
