Shen 'ao Village is actually the largest ancient village in Tonglu. Located in the hills, high in the south and low in the north, there is Xuanshan in front of the village and Lion Rock behind the village. The most famous lake is the one at the head of the village. Walking through the archway on the street, you can see such a picture of enjoying life, which reminds me of Moon Bay in Hongcun, but it is wider and more conspicuous than Moon Bay. As a water town in the south of the Yangtze River, perhaps the scenic features of Mysterious Village are not the most unique or sensational, but every place is a witness to its history.
In fact, Shen 'ao Village is a little more commercialized. Although most of the old houses are closed, you can still see some special shops occasionally.
Shen 'ao Ancient Village is a consanguineous village of Shen Tujia people. With its ancient culture, profound historical and cultural accumulation, unique geographical environment and long-standing cultural relics, Tonglu has become a famous ancient village in the south of the Yangtze River. There are more than 40 buildings in the village, all of which are ancient buildings in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
Seen from the map, Shen 'ao Village is rectangular. We must explore this ancient village with our steps. There are all kinds of old streets in the village, and some cobblestone pavements are very emotional. Shuttling through these old streets and alleys, I don't know what I will see at the next intersection. There are few tourists, and it is very comfortable to meet local residents who go out to bask in the sun or wash clothes occasionally.
The pond at the entrance of the village is under the blue sky and white clouds, showing the charm of the ancient village in Shenzhen! There is a pond at the entrance of the village, and the whole village is connected by canals. Every once in a while, a water port (called Australia by locals) is opened to form a complete water system! This is the source of life for the deep Australians and the crystallization of the wisdom of the deep Australians in past dynasties.
A cobblestone path built in the Song Dynasty and constantly renovated runs through every corner of the village. Old buildings of past dynasties are scattered on both sides of the road. Bare blue bricks, old white walls and tiles, continuous ancient roads and green leaves and red flowers in the sun show the ancient village vividly!
