Now that we know that Bigu has existed for thousands of years, there must be a reason. Taoism is very practical. If it's bad for your health, I'm afraid it has long been abandoned by Taoism.
As for whether it is scientific or not, what does "science" mean here? What is explained by the existing human knowledge is called science, or what cannot be explained cannot be called science?
Taoism is very good for health. However, only under the guidance of teachers with successful practice can we achieve the expected results. The common effects are: it can make people light up their body keys, keep their ears bright and their eyes bright, and prolong their lives. It is not uncommon to cure intractable diseases because of broken valleys.
Now many people in the society, after hearing a little knowledge, are also groping for a way out. Most people did not achieve the expected results, and a few people lost their precious lives. This half-baked but persistent copying is tantamount to superstition and certainly unscientific.
I'm afraid it's not scientific to criticize those who have tried hard to cross the valley only by seeing the messy people in society.
