Everyone has different ways and views on tooth maintenance, so everyone has the habit of brushing their teeth once or twice a day. Some can use ordinary toothbrushes, while others can use electric toothbrushes. But for what kind of toothbrush works, that is, different people have different opinions. On the other hand, how did ancient people brush their teeth? Does anyone think that gargling with water is enough? Actually, it is not. Ancient people maintained their oral teeth in different ways.

Before the invention of ancient toothbrushes, the ancients usually brushed their teeth by hand every morning, or seemed to rinse their teeth with water. There is a record about washing teeth with water in the Book of Rites: "When a chicken crows at first, it gargles with salt, but clothes. Collecting pillows, sweeping rooms, sitting in the hall and arranging seats, each according to its own business. " Regarding the water used for gargling, the ancients generally used salt, because salt water can destroy bacteria in the mouth and keep teeth clean. "Qian Jin Fang" also records that "one twist of salt is used in each denier's mouth, and it is filled with warm water ...". Of course, salt is very valuable to ordinary people, so it is rarely used. They thought of another way to keep their teeth clean by chewing poplar branches.

It is impossible to completely clean teeth or completely remove dirt from teeth, whether by hand, by salt water or by poplar branches, so the ancients who loved cleaning began to think of ways, so the product toothbrush appeared.

It is impossible to prove when the toothbrush appeared. According to relevant records, toothbrushes were used in China before the Tang and Song Dynasties. According to legend, the tooth stick, the predecessor of toothbrush, appeared in ancient Rome, and the first toothbrush in the world was invented in China. Its inventor was Emperor Xiaozong of Ming Dynasty, who put a short bristle into the bone handle in 1498, thus becoming the first toothbrush in history. After several twists and turns, it spread all over the world and was widely welcomed by people all over the world.

Toothbrushes With the development of society, the manufacturing technology of toothbrushes has gradually matured, and toothbrushes have become popular. Ordinary people can already use toothbrushes. In the Southern Song Dynasty, there were workshops specializing in making toothbrushes, shops selling toothbrushes, and toothbrushes in cities. The ancient people's cleaning technology of teeth and oral cavity also reached a higher level, and it is also recorded in ancient books. Zhou Shouzhong, a native of the Southern Song Dynasty, compiled a health care book "Treasure of Family Health", and even specifically discussed whether to arrange the time to brush your teeth with a toothbrush in the morning: "Don't brush your teeth early, for fear of floating roots and loose teeth, and covering your teeth with ponytails will be extremely harmful."

No matter in modern society or in ancient times, the hygiene problems of oral cavity and teeth are consistent, and the cleaning of oral cavity and teeth is also essential every day. If you don't protect your teeth well, you can only endure the pain and go to the dentist, because toothache is not a disease, it really hurts.
