In natural history, Huangdi learned about Polygonatum from Tianmu. About Polygonatum sibiricum, Zhang Hua's Natural History in the Western Jin Dynasty recorded a dialogue. The Yellow Emperor asked Tianmu, "What is born in heaven and earth? Is there any food that kills people?" Tianmu said, "The grass of the sun is called Polygonatum. If you eat it with bait, you can live forever. " Polygonatum sibiricum has always been regarded as the top grade of health food therapy, and it is one of the few herbs named after its essence, which shows its efficacy. Polygonatum sibiricum, also known as Ganoderma lucidum, Sungrass and Celosia cristata, is the dried rhizome of Polygonatum yunnanense, Polygonatum sibiricum or Polygonatum multiflorum of Liliaceae. According to different shapes, it is commonly called "rhubarb essence", "Polygonatum sibiricum" and "Polygonatum sibiricum". Polygonatum sibiricum was originally a Taoist health food, so it was mostly included in dietetic materia medica rather than medicinal materia medica. Ge Hong of the Eastern Jin Dynasty said in Bao Pu Zi: "In the past, people used this product to get the essence of heaven and earth, so it was called Polygonatum.
