Ginger is planted in spring, usually from March to April in the south, that is, around Tomb-Sweeping Day, and from April to May in the north. The harvest time of ginger is not fixed. Generally, planted ginger is harvested from late June to early July, tender ginger is harvested in early August, fresh ginger is harvested in middle and late June, and old ginger is harvested in1early October.
Planting method of ginger
Selection of planting ginger: before planting, select the planting ginger, and choose the ginger blocks that are fat, full, uniform in size, full of buds, free from rot, pests and diseases and damage. Proper planting of ginger can greatly improve the survival rate of planting and is beneficial to the later growth and development.
Treatment of planting ginger: before sowing, planting ginger should be dried in the sun for 1-2 days, and buried with wet sand can accelerate germination.
Soil preparation and fertilization: Ginger is a shallow root crop, and its root system is mainly distributed in the surface layer of soil. To choose a good planting plot, it is suitable for planting on sloping land and slightly shady land, and suitable for sandy loam with deep, loose, fertile soil layer and good drainage. Do a good job in soil preparation and apply decomposed base fertilizer.
Sowing: Ginger can be sowed in the border, with the border spacing of 50-55cm, the border width of 25cm and the border depth of10-12cm, and the planted ginger can be sowed.
Maintenance management: check and replenish seedlings in time after emergence, intertillage and weed for 3-4 times, topdressing according to the growth, watering and moisturizing in time, and taking pest control measures.
