Learning medicine and filial piety (one of the experiences of learning medicine)
Chinese medicine has always been inseparable from filial piety, which are two concepts. Filial piety is a general term for good moral behaviors such as courtesy, gratitude, return, support and help to the younger generation. Kindness, love also; There is love above and kindness below; Kindness is also a noble behavior of parents. Therefore, kindness is the title of good moral behavior such as caring, nurturing and helping the younger generation. There has been such a saying since ancient times: "Parents don't know whether medical treatment is unkind;" You don't know that medicine is unfilial when you are a child! "

Throughout the ancient books of China traditional culture, there are many works about filial piety and many allusions about it. The story of twenty-four filial piety is almost a household name. The wisdom of health care in the classic of traditional Chinese medicine, Huangdi Neijing, also contains the content of health care for the old and the young. There are also many monographs by later physicians, such as Family Affairs in the Scholars in Jin Dynasty, Pension Book in Song Dynasty, Shou Shi Bao Yuan in Ming Dynasty, Old Heng Yan by Cao Tingdong in Qing Dynasty, New Books for Young Children in Song Dynasty and Old Heng Yan by Lu in Ming Dynasty.

Children and parents, in other words, each of us should know a little medical knowledge, especially the knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine handed down by our ancestors, including many non-drug treatment techniques, such as acupuncture, moxibustion, hot compress, cold compress, bloodletting, massage, massage and so on. Mastering certain medical knowledge and technology will often save people from danger under special circumstances. For example, in a place far from the hospital, you can bleed at ten o'clock when you meet a patient who suddenly falls into a coma. Among them, Baihui point and Yongquan point can puncture blood for first aid.

Don't think that there are clinics and hospitals everywhere now. Go to the hospital when you are sick, and don't bother to study medicine by yourself. I don't know that although there are many hospitals, there are times when they are not around. First aid for coma patients, hemostasis for trauma patients, that is a race against time! Sometimes I am often sent to the hospital, and I have missed the best treatment opportunity! And the medical skills we have learned are always with us, and often a few simple actions can solve the urgent need.

I've been through most of my life, and I've seen too much medicine. It may be helpful and enlightening to share a few cases with readers here.

When I was a child, I heard my grandfather talk about an experience of treating the elderly. It was in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. My hometown is in a place called Hongyan Village in the Qinling Mountains in southern Shaanxi. Many roads are dangerous, feudalism is backward, traffic is blocked, and there are few doctors and medicines (there are many Chinese herbal medicines, but no one can use them). I'm sick, so I have to go to the nearest Dajing town to see a doctor. It took me half a day to go back and forth.

Grandpa's grandfather was ill, so he invited a doctor to his house, made a prescription after diagnosis, and immediately sent someone to Dajing Town to buy medicine. Those who bought medicine in the afternoon came back, and their condition got worse, so the medicine they bought could not be used. Then he went to town overnight, and the medicine he bought two days later could not be used again! The doctor sighed: "It's too late to cure, too late to cure! There's nothing I can do! "So we can only prepare for the funeral. ...

At that time, I was young and didn't know how to be a doctor. Every time I hear my grandfather talk about it, I feel that this doctor is very incompetent. Now by studying Chinese medicine, I know that doctors are not omnipotent. Some diseases, some people's diseases, once the favorable opportunity for treatment is missed, no matter how clever the doctor is, there is no way to save the day! When the disease starts from the exterior, it is the sun syndrome mentioned in Treatise on Febrile Diseases. If it is not treated in time, the pathogenic factors will enter the body, which is transmission. There are many paths to enter the Yangming meridian, that is, the viscera, and the pathogenic factors will continue to deepen. If you can't get timely treatment when you enter the Shaoyang Meridian, then you will go deep into the Yin Meridian, that is, into the viscera, and finally into the Jueyin Meridian, that is, the liver, and it will be difficult to treat.

When a doctor treats a disease, he must first prevent the spread of the disease and use drugs to intercept the disease. This is called disease prevention. The ancients had a theory of using medicine as a weapon, comparing treating diseases to fighting. For example, the human body is like an anti-Japanese base area, and the disease is the Japanese devil. When Japanese devils invade the base area and attack all the way, the soldiers and civilians in the base area will organize resistance. They will ambush, block or destroy the enemy where the enemy is about to pass but has not yet arrived, instead of chasing the enemy behind. Wouldn't it be to let the enemy go deep? The same is true for treating diseases. When the disease breaks out violently, we should first protect the organs that may change, prevent changes and strive for treatment opportunities. Therefore, the treatment should be early, and the opportunity will be missed if it is late. Once the condition worsens, it's hopeless!

Let's talk about the case of children. My family has an aunt, two or three years old. She is my second grandpa's little daughter. She had a high fever when she was about four or five years old. I remember that at dusk, Second Daughter-in-law put a dustpan on her head and whipped it with peach branches, saying it was "exorcism". The fever dropped slowly the next day, as if she was alone. Later, after a long time, I found that she was deaf, and the adults panicked and sought medical treatment everywhere, to no avail, leaving a lifelong disability and ruining their happiness!

What's more, my cousin died young, which is really a painful lesson-my cousin is the eldest son of my third uncle, and my poor third aunt has poor intelligence and poor physique, and she coughs all the year round. After graduating from high school, I looked up the prescription according to the medical book and took Chinese herbal medicine to help him treat it. I actually saw the effect, and I didn't get sick for a year. Later, I left as a soldier. In the third year, I went home to visit relatives and found my cousin gone. My third aunt was ill and coughed again and again, and she was skinny.

Ask the reason why my cousin was absent carefully: it turned out that my little cousin chased my third aunt to cry in the field on an unlucky afternoon, but she beat her without asking. When she dragged her home, it was already dark, and my cousin fell asleep in a semi-coma. After midnight, my uncle and aunt felt that something was wrong with the child and wanted to wait until dawn to take him to the doctor, but it was too late in the morning. ...

These are just the most typical cases in my memory of my hometown in Qinling Mountain area fifty years ago. Anyway, my father-in-law died more than ten years ago because of too late treatment. My father-in-law has lung cancer. When he found it was late, there was water in his lungs. Western medicine only pumps water once every two or three days, and then once a day. Later, when the doctor gave up smoking, he left the hospital and went home to take care of his affairs. He left in less than three days after returning to China. ...

As the younger generation or elders, they are not intentionally unfilial subjectively, but because of their ignorance, neglect, carelessness and carelessness, which objectively leads to the consequences of unfilial heartlessness. Imagine that an old man should pay close attention to treatment when he is sick for the first time, not only when he is sick, but also when he falls. When a child cries and has a fever, he must be ill. You can't just think that children are pestering people. If you can't see a doctor in time, maybe a few simple tricks, such as bleeding at Dazhui point, can reduce the fever, cold compress can also reduce the temperature, or massage related meridian points, such as, Zhuan, Kangong, Taiyang and Fengchi points, can also reduce the fever.

Here are two more examples. My daughter had a fever many times when she was a child. Whether it is in the middle of the night or windy or rainy, I will take her to see a doctor immediately without delay. Once when she got up in the morning, her mother dressed her and found that she couldn't stand straight on one leg, so she tried to stand straight. She said it hurt. Her mother realized that it might be the first symptom of polio, so we immediately took her to see an old Chinese doctor dozens of miles away. The old Chinese doctor said, "This baby is lucky. If found in time, it can be cured and will not leave sequelae. " The old Chinese doctor used the secret recipe plaster handed down from the ancestors to stick it in the leg fossa, and there was no sequelae.

Also, when my son was less than one year old, he got thrombocytopenic purpura and was admitted to the hospital. Western medicine gave western medicine such as prednisone, but it didn't work. Platelets continued to decrease, and some bleeding spots on his skin became small pieces. The hospital gave him a critically ill notice and asked him to transfer to hospital for treatment. In desperation, we thought of the old Chinese doctor who treated our daughter and went to him with our son in our arms.

After reading it, the old Chinese doctor said, "This baby is blood-hot, it doesn't matter, it can be cured." Give a folk prescription, that is, thistle, thistle and cogongrass rhizome, all put together to boil water to make tea. We also went to An Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine to visit Professor Ma. We used a prescription of Chinese medicine. We have been using folk remedies since the acute phase was controlled. In less than half a year, platelets returned to normal. The childhood patients of our two children, because they were found in time and paid attention to treatment, left no sequelae.

These are all positive and negative examples that I have personally experienced, and there are more examples reported by media such as radio and newspapers. Limited to space, I won't list them one by one. Many people do not pay enough attention to the concept of self-help, and usually do not pay attention to learning medical skills and expertise. Often when encountering unexpected situations, I don't know what to do, my mind is blank, I am helpless, or I am careless, which leads to lifelong regret!

I take part in special training courses to learn Chinese medicine knowledge, one is for self-care, the other is to try my best to spread Chinese medicine knowledge, so that more people can participate in learning and benefit. In order to popularize the knowledge of Chinese medicine first aid, this paper introduces several first aid methods to readers, hoping that readers can learn to use them in case of emergency.

A, acupuncture first aid method:

1, the needle is in the middle point (regardless of coma patients), and the needle should be pricked obliquely upwards. The midpoint of a person is located in the upper two-thirds between the lower end of the upper lip groove and the nasal septum. Pinch with your fingers without a needle.

2, the acupoints are still awake, and the second step is "ten announcements" (ten fingers) bloodletting. In order to grab time, grab a hand and stick your fingers together. If you still don't wake up, prick ten toes and bleed. If you still don't wake up, you can prick Yongquan point again (you will see the word "person" when you scratch your feet, and the tattoo head is the acupoint), which is a great first aid point.

3. After the above operations are completed, most coma patients will wake up. If there are still people who don't wake up, they will bleed at Baihui. Baihui point is generally used for bloodletting, and we don't need needles. When the patient's whole face turned red, he had just had a stroke and was bleeding at Baihui. (location of Baihui point: from the middle of the forehead to the top, from the tips of two ears to the intersection of two lines, and half an inch later, you will touch a pit bigger than adzuki bean, which is this point)

When bleeding, let the patient lie on his back and lean his head against the edge of the bed. After Baihui bloodletting, patients will feel cool. When it is cold to his mouth, he can speak. When his hands and feet are cold, his hands and feet can move. When we meet people who need first aid, we shouldn't care too much. Without a license, as long as it can save lives, it is a license. Don't be shy when you meet beautiful women. Breathe when you need artificial respiration. Everything is to save people! (Excerpted from the study notes of class X Ni's Acupuncture Dacheng. )

Second, the traditional Chinese medicine prescription for the treatment of the five-terminal disease: No matter sudden death, or sudden death such as being crushed to death or drowning, if the heart is warm, quickly blow 0.3 grams of fine Pinellia into the nose and then blow a little into the ear, and you can still live for one day.

Third, the treatment of stroke unconsciousness: take this medicine on the day of illness to avoid becoming a useless person. Hold it with cypress leaves, hold it with scallion, grind the roots like mud, fry a large glass of ashless wine (that is, high-quality yellow rice wine) for ten times and twenty times, and remove the residue and warm it. If it tastes bad, drink it four or five times.

Fourth, Jiebaidu recipe: 22 ounces of licorice powder, half a catty of mung beans, decoction.

Five, the rule of treating all kinds of insects into the ear: all kinds of insects into the ear, do not disturb, do not use things to dig out; If in the left ear, hold the mouth and two nostrils of the right ear tightly with your hands and breathe hard into the left ear, the bug will come out automatically. Worms go into the right ear, and vice versa.
