What kind of silk quilt is good?
Both mulberry silk and tussah silk are better.

Silk can be divided into pure silk quilt and mixed silk quilt. Pure silk is filled with 100% silk, and mixed silk is filled with more than 50%. In other words, both mulberry silk and tussah silk can be called silk quilts.

Silk quilt and tussah silk are both high-quality protein fibers, but silkworms are domesticated indoors and feed on mulberry leaves. The silk they spit out is relatively long, with high protein content, delicate and soft, good luster and beige or milky white; Tussah is artificially stocked in the wild and feeds on oak leaves. Protein content is lower than that of mulberry silk, and its luster and fineness are not as good as that of mulberry silk. So the price of mulberry silk is much higher than that of tussah silk.

Silk quilt cleaning

Ordinary silk quilts cannot be washed, dry-cleaned and ironed. Therefore, it must be used when it is applied to avoid dust and stains on the quilt core. Because silk is a natural component of protein, it is very afraid of contact with alkali or other chemicals. If there are stains, they must be cleaned, and professional silk detergent should be used for local cleaning.

After absorbing the excess water with a towel, put it in a ventilated and cool place to dry naturally, but now some brands of products, degummed silk, can be washed directly without affecting future use. Although you can rest assured of machine washing, you should pay special attention to this kind of quilt when cleaning.

First of all, the washing time should be chosen in a place with sunny and dry weather, good ventilation and high outside temperature, which is conducive to full drying and promotes the quilt to dry in a short time. Secondly, when washing, you should choose neutral or weakly acidic detergent, turn on the washing machine with the silky function key, and wash gently. After washing and dehydration, put a small amount of silk (wool) softener.

After that, it must be fully dehydrated to the point where it does not drip. In addition, straighten the four corners of the quilt before drying, and turn it over and shake it several times until it is dry. Shake and pat after drying to restore the quilt to its original state.
