Does cooking other things in an electric kettle affect its service life?
When I saw a friend cooking with an electric kettle, I was surprised, because it was unsafe and probably dangerous.

When you buy an electric kettle, you should read the instructions carefully. Most electric kettles should be marked that they can only boil water, and cannot be used for cooking rice and other foods and drinks. Maybe my friend didn't pay attention at that time, so he used this electric kettle as a rice cooker.

It is true that some pots can be used to make tea, such as the kind of health pot, which can be used to cook chrysanthemum tea and even health soup and porridge, but most families use the most common kettle instead of this. As for why you can't cook other things in an electric kettle, I'll explain it to you next.

First, it is difficult to clean. The opening of the electric kettle is very small, so it may be difficult to get in. If you cook food in it, such as boiled eggs, it will smell like fish after cooking, and then there may be egg liquid flowing out after the eggs are broken. These are difficult to clean, and the next time you boil water, it will leave a fishy smell.

Second: the power supply cannot be cut off. As we all know, the boiling temperature of water is 100 degrees Celsius. After reaching this temperature, the basic kettle will automatically cut off power. This is a protection mechanism to prevent the kettle from boiling and causing dry burning. But not all liquids will boil at this temperature. For example, this kind of milk will boil at low temperature. After boiling, milk will not reach 100 degrees Celsius. If you use an electric kettle, the power supply will not be cut off, and it is easy to cause milk overflow if you keep cooking. This is the cause of danger.

The same is true of other drinks, such as tea. If the boiling temperature is not fixed, it may boil at low temperature or ultra-high temperature, but the electric kettle is only designed for boiling water, and other foods and drinks do not conform to the working principle of the electric kettle at all.

Third, the working hours are short. The working time of the electric kettle is the time to boil water, which only takes a few minutes. These few minutes are very powerful, but fortunately, the time is short and there will be no problem with the electric kettle. Sometimes the wires may get hot if they are boiled several times in a row, but boiling for a few minutes is not enough. For example, it takes more than half an hour to cook a porridge in jiaozi, and the electric kettle itself cannot work continuously for such a long time.
