In times of peace, if you want to keep fit, the festival is approaching. The health committee makes families live within their means, and doing good will be just as good as wealth (a health proverb), which is selected from the Qing "Motto".
"Sheng Da" refers to the attitude of understanding life and not being tired of the world. Yan Zhitui in the Northern Qi Dynasty wrote "Yan's Family Instructions and Learning Notes": "A timid person wants to see the life of the ancients, be upright, stand firm, seek happiness without returning, and be furious without fear." He also said: "A husband should live without hesitation, and he should not pity ... If he is sincere and filial, he will see a thief, be righteous and offend, and help the country when he is bereaved, and the gentleman will not blame" ("Yan's family precepts and health preservation"). The first part of the couplet means that you can live in seclusion and take care of your body on weekdays, but you should give up your life and forget your life to work for it at the critical moment. This is the positive concept of health preservation advocated by Confucianism, that is, "cultivate one's morality for the world, and not cherish oneself for the world" (Maxim Lian Bi).
The second part is to manage the family business within our means and be generous when helping the poor. That is, as another couplet in the book says:
Compassion for the poor, although a penny is worth a penny, is also Futian;
Happiness and kindness, that is, a word is a good medicine.
