Comrade Wang Longde has held the leadership position of health administration for a long time, and engaged in professional research in the field of public health, such as administration, epidemiology and public health promotion. He has rich practical experience in health management and profound academic attainments. Since 198 1 year, he has published more than management articles and academic papers 100 in famous Chinese and foreign medical journals, and edited many professional works. In 2007, because of its outstanding contribution to the prevention and treatment of AIDS and tuberculosis in China, it was awarded the "Outstanding Leadership and Continuous Contribution to AIDS" award by UNAIDS and the "High Pass" award for tuberculosis control in 2007 by the World Health Organization. He personally participated in planning and organizing the compilation of a series of interviews with healthy communities, which won the "second prize of national scientific and technological progress" awarded by the State Council in 2005. In recent years, Professor Wang Longde has held many lectures on health knowledge in the Central Party School, state organs and military units, which are very popular. In March 2008, he was appointed member of the 11th the National People's Congress Standing Committee (NPCSC) and member of the Education, Science, Culture and Health Committee.
