Besides three meals, some people like to have tea and supper in the afternoon. Others eat all kinds of tonics for health care. If they eat too much, eat too well and have overnutrition, it will cause physical burden, obesity and even high cholesterol, diabetes and so on. Buddhism takes "eating less as a good medicine". As long as three meals a day are normal, regular, quantitative, balanced and light, it will not cause excessive stomach load, which is to control diet and keep healthy.
Second, work and rest should be normal: we should develop the habit of normal life in peacetime. Some people live upside down and have an irregular rhythm in order to make money. After a long time, the physiological clock is naturally unbearable. Why do some people live long? Because they live a healthy life and live a regular life of going to bed early and getting up early. In addition to living in an orderly way, work should also be regular. When you go to work, you should concentrate on your work, even if you are busy, you just need to maintain a normal schedule.
Third, emotions should be peaceful: Buddhism says, "emotions are ignorant." Therefore, if you want to be healthy, you must be able to control your emotions, know how to balance, don't hinder them often every day, don't worry, and don't care about gains and losses. These are harmful to your health. One of the killers of modern people's health is depression, which is closely related to people's mood. When a person's mood is calm, the body will not only release good energy and produce new cells, but also be rational and sober, do things safely and naturally healthy. On the other hand, when the mood is not harmonious, it is easy to produce bad cells, which not only affects the quality of life, but also causes harm to the body.
Fourth, things are rare: in daily life, food, clothing, housing and transportation cannot be separated from it, but it cannot be wasted. If we don't use transportation when we go out, there is no need to use a good car, because a good car needs to be taken care of and maintained every day, and we are afraid of being damaged and stolen when we go out. In short, there are many obstacles. If you can be a little indifferent, control material desires, and be indifferent to the use of things, you will not suffer from loss.
The way of keeping in good health mentioned in "Hundred Words of Buddhist Health" can also be used for your reference: "Get up early without changing clothes, sit quietly and have a fragrance; When you finish dressing and fasten your belt, you must pay tribute to the Buddha first. When you don't sleep enough, you are not full; Treat guests as if they were alone, and be alone as if they were guests ... "With a correct attitude towards life and normal life rules, it is not difficult for us to have and enjoy health!
