Kong Qiu (about 55 1 year-about 479 years), a native of Lu Yi (now Qufu, Shandong), was the founder of Confucianism. Confucius, a student of Laozi, revised the Six Classics (Poetry, Book, Rite, Music, Book of Changes, Spring and Autumn) in his later years. After the death of Confucius, his disciples and re-disciples compiled the words, deeds and thoughts of Confucius and his disciples into a Confucian classic-The Analects of Confucius.

Confucius' life can be summed up in one of his words: "I am determined to learn five out of ten, stand at thirty, not be confused at forty, know my destiny at fifty, listen to my ears at sixty, and do what I want at seventy, without exceeding the moment."

Confucius is the son of a real poor family. His first wife was a Shang royal family.
