Linyi in the south belongs to Yimeng Mountain area and is a prefecture-level city in the south of Shandong. The north is called Linyi, which is different from Yi. As the name implies, it is a county-level city in northern Shandong, smaller than Linyi in the south.

Linyi is located in the southeast of Shandong Province, bordering the Yellow Sea, Rizhao in the east, Zaozhuang, Jining and Tai 'an in the west, Zibo and Weifang in the north and Jiangsu in the south. It is located at the junction of Yangtze River Delta Economic Circle and Bohai Economic Circle, the port-facing industrial belt in southern Shandong, the demonstration base of marine industry linkage development, and the national key development area of Donglonghai.

Linyi is centered on Yishu River, surrounded by mountains on the west, north and east, and forms a fan-shaped alluvial plain to the south. The area ratio of mountains, hills and plains is 2: 4: 4.

The mountainous areas are concentrated in Yishui, Yinan, Mengyin, Pingyi, Feixian and Junan counties. The terrain is relatively high, generally above 400 meters above sea level. Dense vegetation in mountainous areas is the main base for developing forestry, fruit industry and animal husbandry.

The hills are mainly distributed in the periphery of Yishui, Yinan, Junan, Lanshan, Lanling, Linshu, Tancheng, Pingyi and other mountainous areas, with the widest distribution in the east of Shuhe River, with an altitude of 200-400 meters.

Plain includes Yishu River alluvial plain, valley plain and Laowa plain. Yishu River alluvial plain is mainly distributed in southern Yishui, eastern Yi 'nan, Hedong, Lanshan, Luo Zhuang, Lanling and Tancheng. The ravine plain is mainly distributed in Feixian, the middle of Pingyi, Pinggu in front of Mengshan and the ravines in Mengyin, Yinan and Yishui counties. Waterlogged lowland plains are mainly distributed in the south of Lanling and Tancheng.
