Legal analysis: Pet shops have signed a foster care service contract with pet owners. Pet shops need to provide food and rest places for pets according to the foster care agreement, and ensure the safety and health of pets during the foster care. If the foster pet is sick for its own reasons, then the pet shop does not need compensation; But if the pet is sick because of the pet shop, then the pet shop must make compensation.

Legal basis: Article 577 of the Civil Code of People's Republic of China (PRC). If one party fails to perform its contractual obligations or fails to meet the contract obligations, it shall bear the liabilities for breach of contract such as continuing to perform, taking remedial measures or compensating for losses.
