Since 1982, Ping Li has visited Finland, Norway, Portugal, Denmark, Switzerland, Sweden, France, Brazil, Italy, Japan, Belgium, Britain, South Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan with the Dalian Peking Opera Troupe, and has been highly praised by international friends. In 2000, she went to Japan and the Netherlands to star in Farewell My Concubine, Daughter of Yangmen and Opera Mountain. Farewell My Concubine has been performed for 20 consecutive times in Tokyo, Japan, and broadcast live to the whole world by NHK TV. Hill is a beneficial attempt by Amsterdam Opera House in the Netherlands to integrate western opera with Chinese Peking Opera.
