Crispy with white or hollow pith. Leaves opposite, stipe, mostly shriveled and broken, green and brown. The intact leaves are 3-lobed or undivided, and the middle lobes of the splitters are larger. After flattening, it is needle-like or oblong, with narrow base and serrated edge. The undivided person is oval, egg-shaped needle or flattened oval. The smell is fragrant and slightly bitter. Its pungent nature, light taste, into the spleen and stomach meridian, has the functions of clearing away heat and relieving summer heat, removing filth and eliminating dampness, and regulating menstruation. It is mainly used for treating common cold and summer dampness, headache due to cold and heat, pathogenic dampness, anorexia, greasy mouth and irregular menstruation.

Eupatorium adenophorum is the aerial part of sweet potato seedlings in Labiatae. The stem is square column with few branches, shallow longitudinal grooves on all sides, 50- 100 cm long and 0.2-0.6 cm in diameter. The leaves are opposite, the stems are short, and the leaves are shriveled. After flattening, it is quilted or rectangular with a length of 5- 10 cm. The upper surface is dark green, the lower surface is green, and there are dense glandular spots and short hairs on both sides. The apex is pointed and the edge is jagged. Flowers are clustered in leaf axils, corollas often fall off, bracts and calyx persist, yellow-brown, odorless and tasteless. It is mild in nature, bitter and pungent in taste, enters the liver and spleen meridians, and has the functions of promoting blood circulation and diuresis. Clinically, it is mainly used for amenorrhea, micro-eruption, postpartum blood stasis abdominal pain, body surface edema, traumatic injury, abscess and carbuncle.
