First, the specific holding method.
1, "Dao Zhong Shu Miao pian" said: "What is the one who holds it steady? I pinch the words of his three fingers with my left and right thumbs, or I have been pinching his thumb with four fingers, and my left and right hands are between my waist and abdomen. " "Hold" refers to pinching the thumb of the left and right hand on the horizontal line of the other three fingers, or putting it on the palm of your hand, holding it tightly with the other four fingers, and then pressing the left and right hands on the waist, abdomen or back.
These statements are similar. They all have their thumbs between their fingers. The difference lies in which finger root the thumb tip is located. Some think it's an index finger, some think it's a middle finger, and there are ring fingers and little fingers.
3. The grip method advocated in the four sets of health qigong: the thumb is buckled on the palm, the fingertip is located at the root of the ring finger (the fourth finger), and then the other four fingers are flexed, and the thumb is slightly held firmly, like holding a baby. Why the root of the ring finger? The ancients thought it was a place where the liver and soul closed their orifices, and the theory of traditional Chinese medicine also put forward that "the liver controls the grip"
4. We see that the newborn child is particularly full of liver meridian qi. In order to protect themselves, children often instinctively clench their fists to "fix their souls." The end of a person's life means "losing all his liver and soul and letting it go".
Second, the benefits of firm holding.
1. According to the previous records, grasping originally helps to calm the mind and collect sperm. Therefore, it can be considered that the human body system acted by grasping should be the liver meridian system and the kidney meridian system. Traditional Chinese medicine theory holds that "liver and kidney are homologous", and the property of liver is wood, which can relieve depression and regulate qi and blood. Liver meridian system includes liver, eyes, tendons, nails and other tissues and organs.
2. The meridians of the liver meridian system run beside the body. The nature of kidney is water, which is the basis of growth and development. The kidney meridian system includes organs such as kidney, bladder, ear, bone and hair. The meridians of the kidney meridian system run in the body. The coordination of liver meridian system and kidney meridian system at ordinary times can make the human body collect sperm, and long-term persistence can calm the mind, ward off evil spirits and prevent diseases.
