Tongren is a nomadic area in history. During the Han Dynasty, northern Tongren became a wasteland of the Han Dynasty. Here, Tang gave Princess Jincheng to Tubo. Song Dynasty was the sphere of influence of Gioro Fan's regime. During the Yuan and Ming Dynasties, the county security guard was the antenna, and the Central Army extended into it, forming the largest Tibetan Buddhist ruling system centered on Rongwo Temple, which lasted until the Qing Dynasty. In ancient times, this was the land of the ancient Qiang people; In the late Western Jin Dynasty, it was a muddy land of Antu jade; Sui Dynasty was a Dahua county and a Michuan county.
