From 65438 to 0957, he was assigned to the Central People's Hospital (now Peking University People's Hospital) to engage in scientific research, clinic and teaching of traditional Chinese medicine. 1958 1 month opened the first Chinese medicine ward for Beijing Medical University, 1958 opened the course "Introduction to Chinese Medicine" for Beijing Medical University in autumn.
1980 was employed as a visiting researcher at the Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine. 1983 served as deputy director of the central laboratory of Chinese academy of traditional Chinese medicine, 1985 set up the institute of basic theory of traditional Chinese medicine as deputy director of business. He proposed that TCM scientific research and research complement each other, opened up new ideas of scientific research topics, presided over the seventh five-year key research projects of "liver stagnation and blood stasis" and "spleen fluid phlegm dampness", and won the first, second and third prizes of ministerial achievements successively.
1986 deputy director of the editorial board of China encyclopedia of traditional Chinese medicine. 1987 the first group of experts sent to Tanzania to conduct AIDS research. 1993 was invited to visit the United States to give a keynote speech on "healing power" and academic exchanges.
199 1 retired to the second line, 1992 received special government allowance from the State Council, and 1993 was appointed as a member of the Eighth CPPCC. 1996 was employed by state administration of traditional chinese medicine Expert Advisory Committee, and 1998 was employed as a member of the 9th China People's Political Consultative Conference. He is currently a senior researcher at the Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine and director of the Expert Advisory Committee of the Institute of Basic Theory.
From June 2008 to October 2008/KLOC-0, Mr. Lu Guangshen gave a report on his representative paper "Health Preservation, Health Care and Treatment: Innovative and Practical Health Medicine" at the first "China Original Medical Renaissance Forum".
He summed up the academic thought of TCM as follows:
