I want to talk about academic matters. Generally speaking, I don't talk about academics, and most people don't understand. However, it is necessary to say this time. I find that the students in the University of Traditional Chinese Medicine are not sure, so let's review the past and learn something new!
As a traditional Chinese medicine, dried tangerine peel is called orange peel, so dried tangerine peel = orange peel: according to today's standards, it refers to the dried and mature peel of dried tangerine peel with its cultivated varieties Chazhi Citrus (GuangChenpi), Dahongpao (ChuanChenpi), Wenzhou Tangerine (ZheChenpi) and Fuju (JianChenpi) as raw materials. Chinese herbal pieces are divided into "orange peel" and "wide orange peel". There is no wide orange peel in Shanghai Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the computer inputs "orange peel" = "orange peel".
Green peel: the skin of young or immature fruits of oranges and their cultivated varieties.
Oranges: dried skins of oranges and their cultivated varieties Dahongpao and Fuju. The difference between dried tangerine peel (hereinafter referred to as dried tangerine peel) and orange peel is whether it is "left blank", that is, orange peel is called orange peel after the white film on the inside of the peel is removed. According to the prescription of Chinese medicine, these are two kinds of medicinal materials with different effects. Specifically, orange peel has the function of reconciliation, and orange peel focuses on regulating qi. In ancient times, there was a saying that "leaving blank is a tonic, and leaving blank is an attack". Blanking is not a tonic but a reconciliation, so neither "orange peel" nor "orange peel" is a tonic!
Exocarpium Citri Grandis: The immature or nearly mature skin of Huazhou pomelo or pomelo. Exocarpium Citri Grandis is completely different from orange peel and orange variety. Although both of them have the word "orange", they are actually two kinds of medicinal materials. There is actually a story behind the orange. In fact, "Exocarpium Citri Grandis" was first produced from the orange peel of Huazhou, which has a good expectorant effect, but it is rare. It is recorded that it is worth one gold. But because of its rarity, the local people sell pomelo peel as orange peel, but today it has become the official raw material of orange peel. Therefore, if you see the record of "Exocarpium Citri Grandis" in medical books of Ming and Qing Dynasties, don't use it blindly in clinic! Exocarpium Citri Grandis in medical books is not the same as today's exocarpium Citri Grandis.
Laochenpi
After combing the Chenpi family, let's talk about "Old Chenpi"!
Has anyone ever wondered why Chenpi is "old"? This should start with the medicinal properties of orange peel. Green peel is the immature skin of orange, and orange peel is the mature skin of orange. Although both are oranges, their medicinal properties are different. Green tangerine peel is dry and strong, which is easy to harm people's health. Orange peel is milder than green peel, but it still hurts people. Therefore, in order to reduce the side effects of orange peel, the ancients adopted the purpose of storing it for many years after processing to reduce its dryness and strong medicinal properties. However, lightening doesn't mean nothing at all, because orange peel is a qi-regulating drug, and qi-regulating drugs have more or less side effects that harm the human body. So orange peel is not as long as you think, the better the efficacy, but the less side effects. You know, old tangerine peel is not Moutai. The longer the alcohol!
Orange peel cannot be used alone, and it needs to be combined with other drugs to play its role. The combination of orange peel and tonic can make tonic drugs not stagnate and facilitate human transport and absorption. The combination of orange peel and attacking drugs can enhance the curative effect, but the use of orange peel will make people's spleen and stomach deficient and cold, which will damage their health. There is a cloud in the new edition of materia medica: "orange peel should be mended, not attacked." I want to be magical, and there is no one who fails but reneges. "Orange peel should be eaten with tonic, not with poison-fighting medicine. If you want to use orange peel alone, you will fail.
After I analyze the dried tangerine peel, let's see if there are many problems in soaking "old dried tangerine peel" every day. So I said to my friend, come and let me see his four specific consultations before I can decide whether I can drink "old tangerine peel"!
Let me sum it up again!
Pericarpium Citri Tangerinae eliminates phlegm, but not dampness. Chenpi eliminates phlegm by regulating qi, because qi moves with water and qi goes smoothly with phlegm. However, qi-regulating drugs have the disadvantage of damaging healthy qi. Therefore, people with qi deficiency cannot take it for a long time.
The orange peel is dry. Although there are oranges for 20 years, their dryness has only weakened rather than disappeared. All people with dry constitution cannot take it for a long time.
Although orange peel can resolve phlegm, it should not be taken by people with mild nature and dry cough due to yin deficiency. Especially for people who smoke for a long time, it is not suitable to take dried tangerine peel, and most of them smoke more lung yin deficiency.
Only people with excessive phlegm and qi and blood can take dried tangerine peel for a period of time. If you continue to drink dried tangerine peel for a long time once phlegm is resolved, dried tangerine peel will become a "good medicine for treating diseases" and a "bad medicine for causing diseases".
In principle, "Old Chenpi" cannot be taken alone for a long time. Please treat this precious medicinal material rationally. It's okay to drink occasionally, and it's okay to treat diseases with other drugs. It is harmful to bear it alone.
