Talking about Health Preservation in South China: "Yi", "Dao" and Chinese Medicine
Nan, a cultural celebrity, is closely related to the philosophy of traditional Chinese medicine.

On September 20 12, Nan, a 95-year-old master of Chinese studies, passed away. In the process of popularizing and inheriting the culture of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism, Nan summed up a set of health-preserving theories based on Yi Jia and Taoism, in which the concept of universe, heaven and earth, the law of natural operation and the health-preserving concept of harmony between man and nature coincide with the theoretical system of traditional Chinese medicine. In Nan's cognition, life also has feng shui eyes.

Tao Te Ching in Diet: Emotion determines the quality of diet.

Nan is a famous master of Chinese studies and Zen Buddhism. In addition to publishing books and teaching, he is also actively involved in charity, and he can keep energetic in his busy work. He lived to be 95 years old because he paid great attention to health preservation, and the master tried to be "meager and light" in his diet.

The first is "poverty": nan huaijin eats very little and pays attention to "no food at noon", and often only eats a few peanuts at noon. Dinner is a bowl of porridge, and the most common porridge is millet sweet potato porridge. Autumn is coming, and I like to drink glutinous rice porridge.

Someone once asked, "Do you eat when you are hungry or do you eat regularly and quantitatively?" Nan huaijin replied, "When ordinary people feel hungry, they are not hungry. They have plenty of food in their stomachs. Because ordinary people are used to stuffing their stomachs too full, they feel hungry when their stomachs are a little empty. How to eat is to remember the four words' eat less and eat more'. Eat a little when you are hungry, and the amount should be small. "

Followed by "light". Nan huaijin is influenced by Buddhism in diet, mainly vegetarian. Dinner porridge is sometimes accompanied by some side dishes and a small amount of staple food. Nan huaijin is from Zhejiang, but he likes northern pasta very much. He always eats some pasta, such as jiaozi, steamed bread, flower rolls and pancakes. Of course, nan huaijin is not entirely a vegetarian. In his own words, it is: "precepts include opening, covering, holding and committing." I'm not strict with myself. I often eat with my clients, and occasionally I don't stop eating meat and drinking. The so-called vegetarian, really means vegetarian, vegetarian, that is, not eating meat, is picky eaters. If you like tofu and hate corn, then you are not a vegetarian. "

Nan huaijin also emphasized having fun. He is famous for his hospitality. He even came to repair electrical appliances and deliver water. As long as he gets to the place where he eats, he will be kept for dinner. During the dinner, he greeted everyone with food and rice from time to time, but only picked a few samples and used some sweet potatoes and millet porridge.

Sleep and the laws of the universe: good feng shui in good times

When it comes to sleep, nan huaijin has his own unique views. He believes: "According to Chinese medicine and my experience, a person really falls asleep for only two hours at most, and the rest is a waste of time, lying on a pillow dreaming. Especially those who meditate and do kung fu know that as long as you close your eyes and really fall asleep for three minutes at noon, it is equivalent to sleeping for two hours, but you should keep good time at noon. At night, you have to fall asleep at noon, and five minutes is equal to six hours. "

Nan explained: "At this time, knowledge has greatly increased, which is related to the laws of the universe, the laws of the earth and the principles of Yin and Yang of the Book of Changes. Moreover, you will feel a force descending from your heart and merging with the strength of your abdomen. Suddenly, the so-called' fire and water ji ji' means that you get enough sleep and are full of energy. Therefore, people who have insomnia or really want to stay up late at night must sleep for even 20 minutes at the right time and train themselves to fall asleep if they can't sleep. /kloc-you don't want to sleep around 0/2: 30. What's more, at five or six o'clock in the morning, you are sleepy and want to sleep. If you sleep at this time, you will be sleepy all day. Therefore, people who work late at night should put down and sleep for half an hour, even if there is something big. The spirit of that day is enough. "

In addition, Nan was deeply influenced by the indifferent and selfless thoughts of Taoism. A student asked nan huaijin how to keep healthy, and he said, I don't keep healthy. Forget the body, forget yourself, even forget the length of life, forget time and space. "A positive attitude is the protection of health, and health care is based on less anger."

Morality determines health: managing internal organs with emotions

In the process of explaining the culture of a hundred schools of thought contending, Nan realized that the allusions and sacred principles in Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism culture can not only be used to improve other people's personality, but also closely related to the health preservation theory of traditional Chinese medicine and Taoism, health preservation and disease prevention. In the inheritance of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism, Nan has formed his own unique, novel and scientific concept of health preservation.

In the process of fasting, teaching cause and effect, and proving Wukong nature, nan huaijin summed up: "Tao gives birth to Taiji, Taiji gives birth to five elements, five elements give birth to viscera, and five internal organs give birth to five virtues." Health concept; In the process of practicing Tai Ji Chuan, I realized that debut is the noumenon that produces all things in the universe, and Tao is the running law and movement law of nature.

Nan repeatedly stressed that all living things have cause and effect, and Tao is the noumenon that produces five virtues, eight diagrams, three talents, four images and five elements of yin and yang. According to his idea, as long as we insist on practicing six degrees and taking eight virtues as the basic principle of life, our internal organs will become softer, cleaner and healthier.

"The five internal organs correspond to the five virtues, and the five virtues raise the five internal organs. Jinde is loyal, Mude is benevolent, Shuide is sincere, Huode is a festival, and Tude is brave. Every organ and disease in TCM is not an organ disease, but complements each other. If violence hurts the liver, it is caused by the liver belonging to wood and not keeping Mu Deren. " Nan huaijin explained that since the internal organs of the human body are composed of fire, water and soil in Jin Mu, each element controls an organ. As long as we conform to the natural laws of the five elements, the changes of the four seasons and the balance of yin and yang, then our bodies will continue to be healthy and enter a virtuous circle.
