Brief introduction of Peking Union Medical College:
Peking Union Medical College was founded in 19 17. The goal of "building a world-class medical college in China" was established at the beginning of the school, which led the development of modern medical education in China and initiated eight-year clinical medical education and higher nursing education in China. Peking Union Medical College has always adhered to the training mode of "AG, excellent education and strict education" since its establishment a century ago.
It is famous for cultivating talented, rigorous study style, noble medical ethics and superb medical skills, and has trained a large number of discipline founders and academic backbones for modern China medicine, which enjoys a high reputation at home and abroad.
There are two majors in undergraduate enrollment of Peking Union Medical College: clinical medicine (eight-year program) and nursing. Clinical medicine (eight-year program) lasts for 8 years, and the total number of students enrolled each year does not exceed 90. Since 2003, the eight-year clinical medicine specialty of Union University has cooperated with Tsinghua University in enrollment and training. The enrollment plan of clinical medicine (eight-year program) of Peking Union Medical College was incorporated into the enrollment plan of Tsinghua University, and Tsinghua University enrolled students on its behalf.
After entering the school, medical students first completed 2.5 years of pre-medical training in Tsinghua University Academy of Life Sciences, taking courses in general natural science, social science and humanities, and then completed 5.5 years of clinical medical professional study in Dongdan Campus in the center of Beijing, including basic and clinical medical courses, clinical practice, scientific research training and graduation thesis. Those who meet the graduation criteria will be awarded the degree of doctor of medicine.
