Qigong takes the adjustment of breathing, physical activity and consciousness (pranayama, shape adjustment and heart adjustment) as a means. Static qigong refers to the movement of qi in meridians with little body movements. The first argument is that, on the basis of the communication between Zhou and Du, once any one or several meridians in the twelve meridians have vitality, it is the formation. The second theory is that after the communication between Ren and Du meridians, it can be formed as long as the vitality reaches the whole body [not following the meridians] or travels to a certain part [sometimes an organ]. The third way of saying this is that after the du meridian is interlinked, the primordial qi will run one by one according to the twelve meridians's order, namely, the lung meridian of the hand Taiyin-the large intestine meridian of the hand Yangming-the stomach meridian of the foot Yangming-the spleen meridian of the foot Taiyin-the heart meridian of the hand Shaoyin-the bladder meridian of the foot Taiyang. In other words, the communication between Ren and Du is the formation of a big week every day. However, Xiao Zhoutian's route is limited to the cycle of Qi descending from Xiadantian to perineum, ascending to Mingmen, crossing Shenque [navel] and returning to Dantian, which is called Xiao Zhoutian's cycle.
