The winter wheat area in North China is the main winter wheat producing area in China, with 47% sown area and 53% total output. Generally speaking, winter wheat can overwinter safely, and the accumulated temperature is above 0℃ and 4 100℃. It can be used for double cropping of wheat and early and middle maturity corn. Water is the limiting factor in determining the planting area. There are many varieties of irrigated land in the north of the Yellow River, and Huanghuai Plain is a suitable area for dryland wheat with great production potential.
In the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, the planting area accounts for 12.3%, and the total output accounts for 45%. From March to May, the light and warm water in Jianghuai Plain is relatively coordinated. Areas where the precipitation is more than 450 mm from March to May are not suitable for wheat planting. The commodity rate of wheat in this area is very high.
In the northeast spring wheat area, the temperature in Heilongjiang and Jilin is low, and spring wheat is suitable. Northwest winter and spring wheat areas, irrigation areas and loess plateau areas. Except for southern Xinjiang, mainly spring wheat and southern Xinjiang winter wheat have good adaptability, high yield and excellent quality.
Southwest wheat area, Sichuan basin, Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau. Sichuan is warm in winter, and warm water is suitable, but there is little light and serious pests and diseases. High illumination in plateau and low temperature in irrigation maturity are beneficial to high yield. In the winter and spring wheat area of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the combination of light and warm water is beneficial to the growth, heading and maturity of wheat for 50-80 days. Insufficient precipitation, wheat seeds are planted on irrigated land.
