Does Cixi like to worship Buddha?
Later generations speculated that Cixi was good at keeping in good health because she wanted to live forever, which was also related to her title of Lafayette. According to unofficial history's "The Year of the Grand View" in the Qing Dynasty, Cixi once posed as Guanyin Bodhisattva for a photo, and everyone in the palace called her Lafayette.

At that time, Cixi wore a pilu hat and cassock, and stood beside Li, Cui Yugui and the four daughters of Prince Qing. Sigege plays the dragon girl, and Li plays the teenager who sends money. In fact, Lafayette really respects Buddha and worships Buddha. But she plays the role of Guanyin Bodhisattva, holding a clean bottle in her hand, in order to adjust her mood and achieve the purpose of keeping in good health.

Whenever she went to court, the minister of military and political affairs told Junbao to report it truthfully, no matter how Lafayette felt. For example, during the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom period, an urgent military report of 800 Li came up, which was often the news that the utopia city was captured by the other side. At this time, Cixi is naturally angry and anxious, and her face will become particularly ugly. Especially women, once angry, will cause troubles such as liver-spleen disharmony, heart-stomach disharmony and gastrointestinal disharmony, so her health is closely related to government affairs.

So eunuchs and maids formed a habit. Every time Cixi angrily stepped down, they had to observe what she said. Seeing that Lafayette was unhappy, everyone rushed to the atmosphere and dared not go out, waiting for her to speak.

At this time, Cixi will consciously adjust her emotions. She will immediately return to her palace and enter the West Room, where there is a quiet room for the master in white. Cixi got there and sat in front of the Buddha statue for 40 minutes. No matter how urgent the battle report or the military report is, no one can disturb her.

At this time, she devotes herself to worshipping Buddha and chanting scriptures, and has no distractions in her heart, so as to calm her emotions and wash her mind. The process of worshipping Buddha can calm her down and eliminate her agitation. Forty minutes later, when Cixi came out again, it was cloudy and sunny, and she became happy, and then continued her political career.

There is a story about the origin of the title of Lafayette. It is said that Empress Dowager Cixi heard in the palace that there was a wise monk in the Jianghu. Monks are especially good at painting Guanyin statues and various chrysanthemums and orchids. Cixi worshiped Guanyin first, and later called her Laner, so she heard this rumor and ordered the monk to come to the palace.

After the monk entered the palace, Cixi forgot about it. After a long time, she suddenly remembered and asked everyone who could draw an eight-foot Guanyin on five-foot rice paper. This is obviously an impossible task, but no one dares to speak. In fact, Cixi is testing this talented monk. At this time, he really stood up and said that he would give it a try.

After the monk went back, after some painstaking thinking, he finally drew a statue of Guanyin and showed it to Cixi. There is a clean bottle on the common Guanyin, and there is a clean bottle on the monk's painting floor. Guanyin bent down to get the willow branches in the bottle. The monk explained that he painted Guanyin with four feet in the lower body and four feet in the upper body. This is the way Guanyin bends down. If it is straight, it is eight feet high.

As soon as the Buddha heard that the monk was really clever, he wanted a reward, but the monk wanted nothing. This caused Lafayette to think deeply. He felt that his practice was not enough and his Buddhism was too shallow, so he said that he would continue to become a monk.

Although she said so, she was in charge of the Western Empress Dowager, so she had to become a monk. At this time, Li next to her is very clever. She knelt down and said that you are our Lafayette and don't become a monk. This sentence spread to Cixi, so the name Lafayette spread like wildfire.

But there are many other legends about Lafayette. Some scholars believe that Lafayette is dedicated to Empress Dowager Cixi, which is actually a misunderstanding. This is actually the unique title of the Qing emperor, because the Qing dynasty was a dynasty established by the Jurchen nationality, and the leader in a high position was called Manzhu. After the establishment of the Qing Dynasty, Manchu was translated into Buddha, which became the unique title of 1920 emperor.

In any case, the cultivation of Cixi is inseparable from her belief in Buddhism. But she lived to be 74 years old, listened to politics for more than 40 years, lost her husband at the age of 27 and her son at the age of 4/kloc-0, and had to struggle between her nephew and his emperor party.

Although entangled in government affairs, I am over 60 years old, but my charm is undiminished, my spirit is hale and hearty, my skin is like jade, and my hair is green. Besides her extremely luxurious lifestyle, it should be closely related to her ability to deal with the relationship between busyness and health.
