Can I keep hamsters at home?
Hamsters are not recommended for the following reasons:

Hamsters may carry parasites, Yersinia pestis and rabies virus, and these diseases are contagious.

2. Hamsters can easily eat Listeria in soil, surface water, sewage and rotten vegetables if they don't pay attention to hygiene, and spread it through oral feces.

3. Hamsters like to bite people. Keeping hamsters indoors will bite things, clothes in the cupboard, or electric wires.

4. Hamsters have poor eyesight and mistake people's fingers for food. When you put the hamster on your hand, if your fingers are not close together, it will bite your fingers as food. Don't tease the hamster with your fingers to avoid being bitten.

The life span of hamsters is generally about two years, which means hamsters have to experience where you will take them. For those who are emotional and unwilling to part, it is still recommended to keep hamsters carefully. Because of the mouse's departure, it is really a big blow to this type of owner, and it often takes several days to walk over.

Matters needing attention in hamster feeding

1, people cannot feed hamsters what they eat.

Because the food we eat is often salty, oily and all kinds of condiments, and repeated cooking will also cause the food to become more greasy during heating, which will increase the metabolic burden of hamsters. You know, mice have weak digestive function, so they can't eat human food.

2. Hamsters should not bask in the sun often.

Hamster's body is not very good at radiating heat. As long as the temperature is too high or the sun shines on it for a long time, it is possible to get heatstroke. Especially when summer comes, shovel officials should pay attention to whether the air in the rat cage is smooth and avoid sultry, so as not to make hamsters uncomfortable.

It is forbidden to wash mice with water.

Hamsters, unlike cats and dogs, can't bathe in water. We need to use bath sand for rats. This is mainly because washing with water is easy to cause it to catch a cold, because the mouse's hair is too dense and soft, and it is difficult to dry it in a short time after bathing. A cold is a fatal disease for hamsters. You must not do this.

4. It is forbidden to keep multiple hamsters in cages.

Don't think hamsters are cute at ordinary times. As long as multiple hamsters are together, it is easy to fight. Hamsters are solitary animals. Never put a hamster in a cage.

5. The feeding environment should avoid noise.

Hamsters are timid animals, so the living environment needs to be kept quiet, and cages should not be placed in noisy places. If the mouse is nervous because of being frightened, it may lead to disease.

6, can't use waste paper as the filler of mousetrap.

Good padding can not only keep warm, but also play a role in cleaning and deodorizing, which is very useful for keeping the rat cage clean and hygienic. Bug suggested that if the shovel officer is not in urgent need or emergency, don't put newspapers and other waste paper in a rat cage. Not only the taste is too strong, but also the water absorption and warmth retention of this paper are very poor.

7. The space in the rat cage should not be too small.

There must be at least water bottles, food pots, nests, running wheels and other supplies in the space. Hamster obesity increases the pressure on the heart, leading to shortened life span and possibly cage paralysis. Hamsters with cage paralysis have basically no strength in their hind legs, and they drag their hind legs when they move.
