Cui Xiuwen, born in Harbin, China, 1990 graduated from the Fine Arts Department of Northeast Normal University, and 1996 graduated from the seminar of Central Academy of Fine Arts.
As one of the outstanding female representatives of contemporary art in China, her achievements have been highly praised and deeply recognized by international contemporary art authorities. She is the first China artist to exhibit her works at the Tate Gallery in Britain. Her representative image "Toilet" was collected by the French Pompidou Art Center, and won the "Young Artist of the Year" at the 20 10 China Art Critics Annual Conference, and the global Chinese female artist award awarded by the Wu Zuoren International Art Foundation-"Outstanding Woman of the 2008 Xiao Shufang Art Foundation".

This exhibition space is the first solo exhibition of important contemporary artists in China since the dismantling of Great Future Gallery and the establishment of Great Future Geng Gallery in 2009. This solo exhibition is also the first solo exhibition held by Cui Xiuwen in Taiwan Province.
The theme of this exhibition borrows Buddhist terms from artistic creation, and the "vacuum spectacle" which has no effect in space but affects reality is Cui Xiuwen's summary of this series of works. It is also a comprehensive expression of the creative state. According to the interview, it took Cui Xiuwen four years to complete this series of works. The language of this series of works "Fantastic Vacuum" presents a picture structure with ink and wash implications, which has changed greatly compared with previous works such as Angel and Little Pregnant Woman. From the main body of the picture structure to the space, scenery and large blank space, the spiritual expression in the works tends to be more abstract from concrete. At the same time, the ink implication presented in the picture is a reminder of the blood relationship of traditional culture.
Cui Xiuwen series works
Cui Xiuwen's latest series of works, The Wonder of Vacuum, completed the sublimation of Cui Xiuwen from physiology to psychology and then to the spiritual world. Cui Xiuwen said that this series of works was inspired by a recent trip to Japan. During the trip, she happened to see that it seems common to use dolls in the expression of works of art, and she thought that dolls could bring out the binary opposition between body and soul. The works are mainly monochrome, and the use of color and composition can be traced back to the influence of China traditional landscape painting. The background of the new work is like the snow-capped mountains painted by Zhu Da (Badashanren); It's almost impossible to tell you from me. These figures and photos present a strange tranquility, while the desolate snow scene adds an emotional color to the majestic mountains. With the change of this style, Cui Xiuwen surpassed the temporal and spatial specificity of contemporary scenes with more abstract composition, and used soft tones, long-axis paintings, simplified figures and other elements of traditional China landscape paintings. Therefore, the focus of the work is to ask women.
