The play tells a series of life mysteries and love entanglements between Zeng and Shen's mother and daughter in the early years of the Republic of China. During the Republic of China, the grandmother Zeng of Yao Jiashao, a famous family in the south of the Yangtze River, was framed by her second grandmother Zhao Cuiping and accused of having an affair with the housekeeper. Pregnant Yun Dan was branded as a peach blossom. Zihao kindly saved him and took him back to his hometown to see his wife Baochun. Yun Dan gave birth to a daughter.
