It turned out that in February of 1930, Mr. Lu Xun and the progressives at that time initiated the establishment of the "China Freedom Movement Grand Alliance", and the Kuomintang reactionaries immediately persecuted it. The Kuomintang Party Department in Zhejiang Province slandered Lu Xun as a "degenerate scholar" and secretly issued an arrest notice. Undaunted, Lu Xun continued to write articles attacking the darkness of Kuomintang rule. His articles, like daggers and spears, hit the key of the Kuomintang reactionaries and exposed their reactionary features. In order to fight back the enemy's slander, he changed the word "degenerate literati" to the pen name above. This shows that Mr. Lu Xun is not afraid of "hitting a wall".
In 1930s, in order to meet the needs of combat, Mr. Lu Xun often changed his pen names, such as "Deng Dangshi" and "Deng Jiang". People in Zhejiang read "Deng" as "Dun". "Escape" means to escape, which means to go to war without the eyes and ears of the reactionary government at that time. Mr. Lu Xun's pen name is Jiao Xiao, and he uses 1936. Xiao means dawn, and Horn means horn, which means he is willing to break through the darkness before dawn and fight for the birth of a new China.
So, when did Mr. Lu Xun begin to use the pseudonym "Lu Xun"? It was in May of 19 18 that Diary of a Madman, the first vernacular novel in the history of modern literature in China, was born. This is the first time that Mr. Lu Xun has published an article under the pseudonym of "Lu Xun". Diary of a Madman describes the mental state of a psychopath in the form of a diary. Through the mouth of this "madman", it depicts a horrible cannibalism world and profoundly exposes the cannibalism essence of feudal society under the veil of "benevolence, righteousness and morality". Calling on people to rise up and overthrow the old system of cannibalism embodies the revolutionary spirit of anti-feudalism. Diary of a Madman strongly impacted the cannibal feudal system and the old ethical code, and laid the cornerstone of the new literature movement.
Later, Mr. Lu Xun explained to his friends the reason for using this name. First, because the mother's surname is Lu, second, because she is a country with the same surname, and third, it means stupid and urgent. He thinks that he is all thumbs, and his efficiency is not as good as that of people with better talents, whether studying or doing things. Only by being more diligent can we receive the same effect as others in a certain period of time. The pseudonym "Lu Xun" not only fully expresses Mr. Lu Xun's love for his mother and motherland, but also shows that Mr. Lu Xun is strict with himself and never forgets to make progress. Later, Mr. Lu Xun described himself as a "willing cow" in Self-mockery, which is a portrayal of this spirit.
