Decathlon, a sporting goods retailer from France, was founded by Michelle Lay Luck in 1976, and its first store was opened in Enluo, a small village near Lille, France.

Decathlon entered China in 2003, and now it has spread all over 178 shopping malls in 46 cities across the country.

Development history

1976-Michele leclerc founded Decathlon [3]. The first shopping center is located in the northern French city of Enlos. Shopping malls adopt the concept of gathering all sports under one roof and optimize prices through self-help sales.

1985- set up a training school and start the employee stock ownership plan.

1986- Decathlon production company was established, and the first shopping mall outside France opened in Dortmund, Germany.

1992-Spain's first shopping center opens in Barcelona.
