Standing skills in tug-of-war competition
Standing skills in tug-of-war;

The arrangement of players should pay attention to the convenience of concentration, give full play to the strength of the whole team, and ensure that the rope does not fluctuate, sway or skew. Generally speaking, in the early stage of tug-of-war, the method of standing on both sides is often used, because this method can make the rope more stable and the players are not easy to fall or go out of bounds, but attention should be paid to prevent the rope from bending left and right, especially not to pull left and right, resulting in scattered strength.

A well-trained tug-of-war team often adopts the method of standing aside, because the strength of the team is easy to concentrate and it is convenient for the players to watch the commander's actions. However, everything is divided into two. It is precisely because the side-standing mode is convenient for the whole team to work hard in one place that the tug-of-war is easy to lean to this side of the station. However, this problem can be easily solved after training, especially for the top two and the last two players.

Distance: No matter which standing posture is adopted, the distance between the front and rear people (from the place where the front player holds the rope to the place where the back player holds the rope) is 10-20cm. Too close or too far will affect the play. Because the players' arms are bent at first, with the passage of time and the consumption of physical strength after the start, the arms tend to straighten out, and the place where the rope is clamped will naturally move backwards. If the distance is too close or even no distance is left, the back of the player in front will inevitably press the hand of the player behind, which will affect the play.

Introduction of tug-of-war competition:

Tug-of-war is an antagonistic competition in which the two sides use rope as the main equipment and pull each other to the corresponding sign line by virtue of their physical and psychological qualities, skills and tactics. Tug of war is a team project.

Tug of war in China has a long history and a broad mass base, which can be traced back to the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period more than 2,000 years ago. It was originally a game created by working people, usually held at grand festivals or sacrifices to express wishes and yearning for a bumper harvest and a better life. With the passage of time, it has gradually developed from a spontaneous folk game behavior to a relatively mature sports event integrating fitness, entertainment, competition and viewing.

Tug-of-war, as a sport, is widely carried out not only in China, but also in all continents of the world. It was once the official event of six consecutive Olympic Games from 1900 to 1920. In 2002, the International Tug of War Federation officially joined the International Olympic Committee.
