The activity of crossing the Pearl River will be held on the afternoon of July 18, 2008, which is the fourth year of crossing the Pearl River. There will be 34 teams,1* *1700 people participating in the activity. Crossing the Pearl River is a mass sports activity in Guangzhou, and the government encourages people to participate in it, so as to achieve the goal of national sports and fitness.
Location: The starting point is Zhong Da Wharf, and the end point is the north bank of the Pearl River opposite Xinghai Concert Hall (the straight line distance between the two sides is about 450m, and the crossing route distance is about 800m.

Registration requirements
1. Good health (no heart disease, hypertension, skin disease and other diseases that are not suitable for heavy-load exercise and swimming.
2./kloc-born after 0/5-55 years old (64 years 1 month) and able to swim more than 2,000 meters in 80 minutes will be selected.

After the swimming skills and physical fitness tests of the organizing committee, nearly 1700 people were finally selected to form 34 teams to participate in this year's swimming activities. There are both "loyal fans" who have participated for many years and "newcomers" who have participated for the first time. The age gap ranges from 15 to 55 years old.
Crossing the Pearl River is a large-scale mass water activity. In order to ensure the safety of swimmers, the organizing Committee will distribute life-saving equipment. During the crossing of the Pearl River, 56 emergency rescue lifeboats were deployed on the river, each equipped with two professional lifeguards and life-saving equipment. The water emergency rescue work is centered on the waterway and divided into four areas in the form of grid. Nine rescue groups *** 1 12 lifeguards are arranged on the east and west sides of the river swimming route. At the same time, the event also hired professional lifeguards from Guangdong Red Cross Society to assist in life-saving work. In order to ensure the smooth holding of the event, a drill will be held the day before to comprehensively test the implementation and overall operation of all departments of the Organizing Committee.
