Sportswear can be roughly divided into the following categories according to sports.

Track and field suit

Athletes mainly wear vests and shorts. Generally, the vest is required to fit the body, and the shorts are easy to stride. Sometimes, in order not to affect the long-span movement of athletes' legs, they will be slit on both sides of the trouser legs or release a certain degree of looseness. Vest shorts are mostly knitted fabrics, but also silk.

Uniforms

Shorts usually go with coats. Ball sportswear needs a certain degree of looseness. Basketball players usually wear vests, while other ball games wear short-sleeved tops. Soccer sportswear is traditionally a V-neck, while volleyball, table tennis, rugby, badminton, tennis and other sportswear are stand-up collars, and blue and red stripes are added to the outside of sleeve legs. Tennis shirts are mainly white, while women wear short dresses.

Water sportswear

Men wear briefs and women wear jumpsuits or bikinis. The basic requirement of swimsuit is that athletes' pockets are not inflated when they exercise underwater to reduce the resistance in the water. Therefore, elastic band, nylon, acrylic fiber and other chemical fiber knitted fabrics with high density, good elasticity and smooth cloth surface should be selected, and plastic and rubber swimming caps should be worn tightly. In addition to swimsuits, snorkeling athletes are usually equipped with masks, diving goggles, breathing tubes and flippers.

(2) When boating, wear shorts and vests to facilitate boating. Wool sleeveless knitted tops for winter. (3) Motorboats move fast, and athletes often wear porous rubber clothes, coated raincoats and breathable airbag life jackets in addition to ordinary knitted sportswear. The color of clothes should be red and yellow, which is in sharp contrast with the sea water, so that accidents can be easily found in the competition. In order to prevent the lightweight rowing boat from overturning, athletes also need to wear a wool vest with good water absorption, which weighs about 3kg after water absorption.

Weightlifting suit

In weightlifting competitions, athletes often wear thick and sturdy tight knit vests or short-sleeved tops, with suspenders and shorts, and a wide belt around their waist. Belt width should not exceed 12cm.

Wrestling tights

Wrestling clothes vary according to different wrestling events. For example, Mongolian wrestling wears a leather sleeveless top, which is also commonly known as a "wallet". It has no front, no belt, no pants and no knee pads. Judo and karate wear a traditional white cardigan from China with knee-length trousers and a belt. Japan and other countries also distinguish judo grades by belt color. Sumo is used to being naked, with only a narrow strip of cloth and a belt under his crotch.

Sportswear/suits/clothes

Gymnastics clothes should show the beauty of the human body and its movements on the premise of ensuring the athletes' skills to play freely. Men usually wear white trousers with vests, straight creases at the front of the trouser legs, elastic bands and even pantyhose. Women wear knitted tights or jumpsuits and choose fabrics with good elasticity, bright colors and luster.

Sportswear on ice

Skating and skiing sports clothes should keep warm, try to be close to the body, reduce air resistance and be suitable for fast sports. Generally, thick wool or other blended wool fibers are used to knit clothes and wear knitted hoods. Competition events such as figure skating pay more attention to the style and color of sportswear. Men wear tight, chic and simple dresses; Women wear short skirts and stockings.

Mountaineering coat

Competitive mountaineering generally adopts soft and wear-resistant wool tights, elastic bands should be installed at cuffs and trouser legs, and rubber-soled rock shoes with convex teeth should be worn on feet. Adventure mountaineering needs to wear down jackets with good thermal performance, with down hats, socks, gloves and so on. The material is bright red, blue and other dark colors, which are easy to absorb heat and easily recognized in the ice and snow. In addition, you can also wear a hooded snow coat made of acrylic fiber for adventure mountaineering. The tightness of the cap, cuffs and trouser legs is adjustable, which is waterproof, windproof, warm and protects underwear.

Jackets are generally made of thick cotton pads, leather, hard plastic and metal, which are used to protect shoulders, chest, back, abdomen and the right side of the body. According to different kinds of swords, such as foil, sabre and epee, the requirements for the protective layer of sportswear are slightly different. The coat of foil competition is wrapped with wire and electrified. Once stabbed by a sword, the electric referee will light up. The inner layer is insulated with nylon fabric to prevent sweating and conduction; The protective sleeve is mask-shaped, made of high-strength silk mesh, with pads on both ears; Pants are usually a few centimeters below the knee, then put on stockings and wrap them in the trouser legs.
