In 2003, the government took the renovation of the old stadium in Lvliang as one of the ten practical things, invested more than 5 million yuan to rebuild the podium and stands, and laid a plastic runway and a green football field. The construction of "one hall, one field" has set an example for the construction of sports facilities in mountainous areas of Lvliang. At present, Xiaoyi, Liulin, Zhongyang and other counties and cities regard the construction of sports facilities as the key project planning and construction of urban infrastructure. The brand-new "one museum, one play" also makes Lvliang take the lead in the construction of sports facilities in Shanxi 1 1 city. Lvliang originally belonged to Luliang area. During the war, it was the seat of the government of the Jin-Sui border region, an important barrier of the revolutionary holy land Yan 'an and the main battlefield of the Red Army's eastward expedition.
Lvliang is both an old revolutionary base area and a poverty-stricken area. There have been no gymnasiums and landmark sports buildings in this area for more than 30 years, and the regional gymnasiums are in disrepair and dilapidated. Some counties in Lvliang don't even have stadiums, so they don't hold sports meetings for a long time. However, Gaoluliang Mountain is rich in mineral resources. In recent two years, the income of coking coal industry has risen and the economy has developed. In 2002, Luliang people made great efforts to build the first gymnasium in Luliang Mountain with an investment of more than 70 million yuan.
