What's interesting in Dongshankou, Guangzhou?
There are five famous gardens in Dongshankou, namely Spring Garden, Zhenyuan Garden, Yuan Kui Garden, Mingyuan Garden and Jiaoyuan Garden, each with its own unique scenic spots and historical stories. Among them, Spring Garden is the largest. This is a three-story western-style building. It used to be the residence of the representatives of the Big Three in China, but now it is open to the public as a museum. And more Dongshankou old villas are reborn in the form of art space, where you can have a cup of coffee, enjoy painting art, watch exhibitions and feel the pleasant time a hundred years ago. There is a popular saying in Guangzhou, "Master Dongshan, Miss Xiguan". In the old society, there was a saying that "if you have money to live in Xiguan, you have the right to live in Dongshan". Dongshan and Xiguan, Yanwu and xiguan big house, power and wealth, modernity and tradition, all of which complement each other and condense the commercial society of Guangzhou in 1930s. The story of Miss Xiguan and Master Dongshan was once a fresh topic that people talked about after dinner, but with the passage of time, the Japanese style gradually faded from people's word of mouth. Now traveling to Guangzhou, the popularity of Xiguan is still relatively strong. Chenjiaci and Shamian belong to Xiguan in a broad sense, and Yongqingfang, which has been transformed in recent years, has also condensed the epitome of an era. But when it comes to Dongshan, it becomes more and more low-key. I didn't know this was a treasure hunt!
