The Structure of Zhaigoya

Zhai is the oldest existing university building in Wuhan and the earliest indoor gymnasium in China, with a large indoor playground, fitness equipment and multi-storey stands.

Zhaigoya is a modern China building. It has both western-style steel-wood mixed structure system and Chinese double-eaves palace roof. It is a typical combination of Chinese and western architecture, and it is also the most historic place of this building-the big roof, which is called the typical style of "wearing a melon hat and a suit".

There are few historical buildings of this style left in China, and only exist in Wuhan, Shandong and Shanghai at present. Among them, Wuhan is relatively more, and now there are only three: one is Xishang Racecourse, which is single-storey; The other is the Songqing Gymnasium of Wuda University, which is also a single floor. The third is the Zhaige Fitness Center, which is the earliest and only two-story structure.
