On the afternoon of July 3 128, the International Olympic Committee voted in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to hand over the right to host the 2022 Winter Olympics to Beijing. Beijing became "the first city in Olympic history to host the Summer Olympics and the Winter Olympics".

Beijing hosted the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 7th National Games, 1990 Beijing Asian Games, 2nd1World University Games, 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games, and 20 14 FINA Synchronized Swimming Grand Prix. Beijing won the right to host the 24th Winter Olympic Games in 2022. In 2009, there were 6 149 stadiums in Beijing.
