Tanzania, as a country that established diplomatic relations with China earlier in Africa, left people with more impressions of Tanzania-Zambia Railway and poverty and backwardness.
Before going to Tanzania, I thought there was nothing here.
I didn't know until I went there that the situation here was different from that on TV.
0 1
climate
Tanzania is located in the south of the equator, at the easternmost tip of the East African Plateau, and adjacent to the Indian Ocean in the east. This is a tropical country.
Speaking of tropical countries, everyone must think that the climate in Tanzania will be hot and dry.
This view is wrong.
Most of Tanzania's territory is located in the East African Plateau, and only the long and narrow coastal plain area has a hot tropical climate.
Other areas are cool all year round, and some areas need to wear cotton-padded jackets from July to September.
There used to be a news that African students didn't like Nanjing being too hot in summer and wanted to go back to Tanzania for the summer vacation.
This is really not an exaggeration.
The temperature in most parts of Tanzania is 20-25 degrees Celsius.
If you travel to Tanzania, note that the only cities with high fever all the year round are Zanzibar and its surrounding islands, as well as the surrounding areas of Dar es Salaam.
One more thing, Tanzania is not dry.
Tanzania has two seasons in a year, rainy season and dry season.
It is expected to start in March and gradually decrease in June and July.
There will be another heavy rain next month.
Therefore, the vast desert scene of thousands of miles without people does not exist in Tanzania.
02
food
There are many delicious things in Tanzania.
Overlooking the equator, facing the Indian Ocean in the east and the plateau in the west, the diverse terrain has brought rich and varied delicacies to Tanzania.
The tropical Indian Ocean has brought rich seafood varieties to the Tanzanian people.
For seafood lovers, Zanzibar Island is also a seafood barbecue that cannot be missed. You can find common squid, prawns, crabs and even lobsters here, as well as all kinds of named and unnamed marine fish.
The local people's favorite seafood is Spanish mackerel, and the prices of other seafood are much cheaper than those in China.
When I went in 20 14, the lobster was only half a catty 15 RMB.
Jellyfish and sea urchins are not eaten by local people, and fishermen throw them away when they catch them. If they happen to catch up, they can take some coins at will.
Not to mention the types of fruits.
Along the plains along the coast of the Indian Ocean, you can enjoy all kinds of fruits: mangoes are almost constant all year round, avocados are big and fresh, and rambutan, durian, coconut and banana almost never disappear from the market.
When buying bananas, you may need to pay attention. There are about dozens of bananas in Tanzania. Only one or two of them are eaten as fruits, and more varieties are eaten as staple food or vegetables.
Especially the green bananas hanging on the street can't be eaten as fruit, but can only be fried or stewed.
In Tanzania, you don't have to worry about not eating watermelon.
The local people have no bad impression of eating watermelon. Watermelons are sold everywhere and can be eaten at any time.
Tanzania is about half Muslim and half Christian.
So you can eat pork locally. However, the local pigs have not been castrated, and the pork tastes a bit heavy.
Donkeys can't be bought, but you can buy a donkey and slaughter it yourself, provided that you consult the local authorities to see if it is allowed. In some areas, donkeys are not allowed to be slaughtered as food, especially in agricultural provinces.
The staple food of local people is generally a kind of dough made of sticky corn flour, which is called Ugali (sound: afternoon curry).
When eating, knead the dough with your hands, dip it in sauce and vegetable juice and eat it standing or with barbecue.
I haven't tried this.
I eat the most oil cakes at roadside stalls. Their name is japati, which is similar to the chopped green onion cake in the north, but there is no chopped green onion.
The other is rice seasoned with oil and salt, which is also very common.
It is not recommended to eat at roadside stalls, which is not very hygienic.
You can try the restaurant on the street.
Crocodiles, lions and antelopes are allowed to be hunted in Tanzania and will also be sold in designated areas.
But remember to ask them to show their sales license before buying, otherwise it may violate local laws.
In addition, there is China Farm in Tanzania, where everything you like to eat at home can be found locally.
You can go to China Restaurant or China City.
In short, in Tanzania, you don't have to worry about not satisfying your China stomach.

on one's pins
The largest city in Tanzania is Dar es Salaam, or Dar es Salaam for short.
It is the largest city in East Africa, and its prosperity is comparable to that of domestic third-and fourth-tier cities.
There are also bus rapid transit, traffic jams, tall buildings, nightclubs, bars, gyms, supermarkets and cinemas. ...
If you travel, you can choose to stay in five-star hotels, hotels run by China people, or even homestays. The conditions are similar to those in China, and household appliances are basically made in China, which are common brands in China.
Those who live abroad for a long time will rent villas or apartment buildings.
I have been to every place in Tanzania that can be called a city. Every city has hotels with good conditions. Try not to stay in local small hotels. The conditions are really much worse. There is nothing better than sleeping in the car.

amusement
Traveling to Tanzania has more natural scenery.
For example, if you go to the crater to see animals, you can sit in an off-road vehicle and observe the natural form of animals.
Of course there are certain risks. You can't get too close to animals. There was an accident when an elephant stepped on an off-road vehicle, and the car was crushed and people were saved.
Moreover, that place is far from the hospital, and it is impossible to get to the hospital in time if you are injured.
To see the great migration of animals, Serengeti grassland is the only place to pass and the best observation place.
But I don't recommend going by myself. I'd better find a local China travel agency. One is that I won't be cheated, and the other is that the accommodation arrangement can be more suitable for the habits of China people.
Friends who like snorkeling must go to Zanzibar.
The water here is transparent, and the water a few kilometers away from the shore can be seen at a glance.
Rent a boat and you can float freely in the sea for half a day (snorkeling is too tired for a day).
There are also historical and cultural attractions in the area.
You can go to the Tatsu Museum to see Lucy's body (as for who Lucy is, please go to Baidu).
Morogoro's slave prison and the governor's office are both buildings of the German occupation period.
Mainly where the colonists held slaves in those days. Friends who are interested in this history can go and have a look.
There is also a cemetery for martyrs who died for the construction of Tanzania-Zambia Railway. This is not for entertainment.
But if you have time, I suggest you go and pay your respects.
Dashi actually has another entertainment, and most people who work in Dashi all the year round will go.
Casino.
This is a very harmful place. Basically, people who go to Tanzania to work and start businesses without making any money invest all their money in this place.
There are five major casinos in China, and the people who go there are basically Indians. Only people who can bankrupt themselves have heard of China people.
The local Chinese help center keeps reminding not to indulge in gambling, but the effect is not ideal.
Hard-earned money is still sweet to take home.

These are some of my own experiences and feelings in Tanzania.
In the next issue, I will tell you about the local cultural environment.
There will be a different understanding.
