? Zhang Xiaolong, an excellent PM, said that if a college student said that ta was out of control, he would accept ta. As a passionate young man who yearns for Goose Factory, after listening to Brother Xiaolong's words (Zhang Xiaolong's speech: the product view behind WeChat), I immediately placed an order for KK's complete set of books, waiting for admission.
? At that time, I didn't get into the habit of reading, and it was desperate to get out of control and have surgery. It took me nearly eight months to finish reading Out of Control, What Science and Technology Want, Technical Elements and New Economic Rules. I read KK's new book Inevitability again this year, and finally collected all KK's books, calling the dragon here.
After KK's Flowers Inside the Wall, Fragrance Outside the Wall was sought after in China, some people questioned whether kevin kelly was a big fool, saying that KK and his Chinese dream destroyed Taiwan, which affected my reading notes to some extent. In view of Xiaolong's heavy recommendation to KK, I really watched Out of Control on my knees. Fortunately, I was sitting and watching inevitability.
? So what is KK's core point of view? Is his book worth reading?
? This is a voluminous book and KK's most important work. Its core view is that machines are becoming creatures, and creatures are becoming projects.
? KK, as a writer and editor of heavyweight magazines such as Global Review, Signal and Global Survey, has considerable scientific literacy. This book is very thick (705 pages), covering scientific knowledge and thinking such as bionics, ecosystem, industrial ecology, cybernetics, network economics, electronic money, artificial evolution and so on. It's still quite painful to read, and because of the limitation of knowledge reserve, I often need the knowledge points in Google ... Most of the ideas in the book were not initiated by KK (which is one of the reasons for being sprayed? ), KK combs them through personal experience and thinking, and forms self-thinking.
? Some ideas that impressed me are:
"Emergence". Bee colony thinking and distributed thinking are a kind of emergence, and invisible hands emerge from a large number of dull members to control the whole group. When we set individual operation rules, and the number and complexity reach a certain level, high-level complexity cannot be inferred from low-level existence. Only by operating it can we reveal the emergence mode of individual parts. My understanding of out of control is that the emergence of individuals and nodes is out of control, which is "the final outcome and fate of all mankind."
Entropy, negative entropy. Everything in nature tends to change from order to disorder, that is, the entropy value increases, and life needs to keep itself at a stable low entropy level by constantly offsetting the positive entropy generated in its life. Life is always in a stable and unstable state, always teetering but never decreasing.
I am ashamed to say that my understanding of prisoner's dilemma, zero-sum game and non-zero-sum game also started from this book. ...
? As you can see from the title of the book, this book continues the view that "machines are becoming creatures" in Out of Control and directly personifies science and technology. It can be regarded as a subversion of the fixed view that technology exists because of human beings, is a tool and can be controlled. It is also my understanding of "out of control": technology is beyond our control, and we should think about how to get along with it.
? This book is the moment when science and technology swept through human life and work. KK's confusion and thinking about science and technology is something we often think of ourselves, right? With the rapid development of science and technology today, if we embrace change and fear again, there will be no consequences. KK's idea is obviously romantic and optimistic.
? What does technology want? Technology wants to embrace life and create a richer and more valuable world. Science and technology is an extension of human beings, and the demand of science and technology is the demand of human beings. The evolution of technology (or technical elements) is inevitable, and we can choose how to recognize this inevitable process. Science and technology elements are an infinite game, we are participants, and the evolutionary end point of science and technology elements is to keep the game going.
? The essence of the three forces in the evolution of biology and technology is very similar: inevitability, contingency and adaptability (openness). The evolution of technical elements has an inevitable direction and an irresistible trend. How do we choose? There are radical objections from parcel bombers, "slow-motion" acceptance or selective acceptance from Amish people, and fanaticism from all beings. KK himself is alienated from science and technology-"he is often the last person to add the necessary equipment". He feels that the less interference, the easier it is to be satisfied and the more sober it is.
? KK pointed out that the co-evolution of biological and technological elements is inevitable. The convergence of innovation proves its inevitability. This book talks a lot about inevitability, and the shadow of inevitability is faintly visible.
"Technical Elements" has four chapters, which are composed of some articles written by KK in a period of time. The logic is loose, and there are many repetitions with the new economy out of control and new rules, so I can't even remember its core point. It is probably a detailed interpretation of his own newly coined word "technical elements", which feels like publishing a book for making money.
? This is not the first time to talk about "coinage" KK. There is a "Vivid System" in Out of Control, and there is one in Inevitability? It's probably a means, and it also means the originator of the mountain, but there seems to be no citation and circumstantial evidence at present.
? This is not recommended.
? This book is about the ten basic survival laws of the online world, that is, the new economic law. A * * * has ten chapters.
? The first chapter is about the forces of gathering and dispersing. Generally speaking, the world will be interconnected and controlled in a distributed way. What we have to do is to conform to this trend and connect subtle things. Influenced by Zhang Xiaolong and Ma, Tencent should believe it, as can be seen from the books recommended by WeChat reading (the first book "Out of Control"). So Tencent's current strategy is to "connect everything." Communication is the most profitable ... Look at Tencent, and it seems to be verifying this prediction.
? The other nine are: increasing income, popularization rather than rarity, free mode, giving priority to network development, not staying at the peak, from place to space, harmony no longer, turmoil emerging, related technology, and opportunities outweigh efficiency.
? One of them, the top management let go, reminded me of the transformation dilemma of traditional enterprises, which was at its peak at that time. It is difficult for them to break away from the original business model, and the enterprise level is rigid. Some attempts are mostly to stabilize the already obvious decline. Enterprise transformation is like this, so is life. We should all learn to retreat after success and not stay at the top. If we want to walk up a flight of stairs, we need to get down from the top of the mountain and cross an unsatisfactory canyon.
? This book is probably a concentrated expression of "Internet thinking", and the economic law proposed by KK in 1998 is actually like a summary of the world today. I have to admire his profound insight. Of course, America is developing faster than us. At that time, it may be a relatively normal scale to predict China now.
? However, the picture below may be a slap in the face. In order to support the view of popularization and networking, KK said that Apple's IOS system will inevitably be swallowed up. It seems that the prophet should not say too much, but he didn't say when. This may be a routine.
? The new book KK continues and develops the views of "machine bionic" and "what technology wants". "Anti-customer orientation" holds that technology is a species and human beings are its servants. On this basis, KK observed and summarized the current inevitable trend of 12. Although it is a bit jumbled, it is also very interesting and insightful.
? This 12 trend is: become; Cognition; Flow; Screening); Reading; Visit; * * * share; Filtering; Re-mixing; Interaction; Tracking; Asking; Start (start).
? I can't teach fish to swim with Luo Pang's reading notes. (self-search)
One of the dry goods editions of inevitability: what is inevitability?
Inevitability Second Dry Edition: You're not late.
Inevitability third dry goods edition: artificial intelligence, the next business opportunity
? "inevitability" and "new economic rules" are both online explosion formats of "X can understand xxx". When I read Free, the author listed 50 free business model schemes in the last chapter. I'm actually surprised by this, but I can't tell you why, but I tend to dislike it.
? Generally speaking, after reading all KK's books, we can clearly understand his thinking logic and core ideas. When we see others pretending to be B, we can giggle and think KK is not so awesome. We also publish books for the sake of publishing books, turning one sentence into ten sentences. This kind of book is really boring. Don't be reluctant to read it. If it weren't for pretending to be B, I'm afraid I wouldn't understand.
? Some people say that KK is in a "marginalized" zone in Silicon Valley, and Americans do not necessarily admire his views. But this is not a reason to judge an author-because Americans don't like him. I think KK is "unpopular" in the United States, because his prediction is not so advanced, and I don't have a clear perception or objective and complete data to explain how far behind China, but it is still a developing country. It is precisely because of the current development of China and the lack of books to think about and present these problems that KK became the godfather.
? But should we praise it and finish KK on our knees? Of course not. When reading, be skeptical, think independently, don't read on your knees because of someone's recommendation, and talk to the author on an equal footing. This is probably a lesson I learned.
? Everything I said in the end was wrong. Spray lightly.
