Date of 2020 International Nurses' Day: Tuesday, May 2020 12, April 20, Year of the Rat.
The origin of nurses' day
Between 1854 and 1856, the British and French allied forces fought fiercely with Russia. Nightingale is the nurse director of a British hospital. She leads 38 nurses to the front line to take part in the work of nursing the sick and wounded. Due to the confusion of medical management and poor nursing quality, the mortality rate of the wounded and sick is as high as 42%.
In this case, nightingale made up her mind to improve the sanitary conditions of the ward and strengthen the care and nutrition for patients. After half a year, the hospital mortality rate dropped to 2.2%. The story spread all over Europe.
1860, nightingale founded the first formal nursing school in the world in London, England. Her work as a nurse has become a basic teaching material for hospital management and nurse education. Nightingale is known as "the founder of modern nursing" because she has promoted the development of nursing work and nurse education worldwide.
19 12 The International Council of Nurses designated Florence Nightingale's birth date-May 12 as the International Nurses' Day, aiming at encouraging nurses to inherit and carry forward the glorious tradition of nursing, treat every patient with "love, patience, carefulness and responsibility" and do a good job in nursing.
