Have you ever worked in a foreign company?
I have been in a German company and a fake American company. German enterprises, the scale is relatively small, about 700 people; Working hours are 7 hours a day, and the actual working hours are about 34 hours; Excellent catering, individual pays 20% meal fee; The salary is not high, 16 salary, plus clothing, fitness, tourism, etc. Interpersonal relationship is extremely simple and harmonious; The organization is also rigid and there is no room for growth; In business, at least in the field of supply chain, it is far from advanced management and practice. Generally speaking, providing for the aged is very good. For young people, it's like boiling frogs in warm water. Fake American companies are completely spit out. The employer is an American. They bought a Taiwan Province company, imported their customer resources, but did not participate in management. It's a foreign company, no foreigners. All supply chain data depend on manual statistics. It is the most painful thing to report the statistical data during the trial production. It is common to work overtime until three or four in the morning. Office cliques are very serious. The boss likes playing mahjong. Idle people discuss mahjong in the morning and eat melon seeds in the afternoon. Busy people are day and night.

Japanese enterprise 1, American enterprise 2, the difference is as follows.

Japanese enterprises: report day and night. What to do now, what to do later, what to do tomorrow, what to do next week. The leader stood quietly behind him every two hours in horror.

American capital: whatever. The task is assigned to you. I told you before the deadline. Make your own arrangements. Leaders only need results.

Japanese enterprises: the work efficiency is low, but we should keep communication. Say that it can't be handed in on Monday, and you can communicate it in time until next Monday.

American capital: high efficiency, heavy workload, snowballing. If you say you want it on Monday, then you want it on Monday. There is no room for discussion. The task was not completed, and a new task came again.

Japanese enterprises: colleagues are more polite and friendly, and they call each other three. More human. A is not in his seat, and B helps to answer the phone, which is normal.

American capital: all English names, Kevin, Lucy and Echo, can't tell who is who for a week. I take care of my work. I answered a phone call for my colleagues in the department and was told by the manager that it was her business, so leave it alone.

Japanese enterprises: reserved and reserved, hierarchical. Coffee is made for the boss at the front desk. I don't think I saw it in the snack area. When you see the boss, you should bow.

American capital: self-service coffee machine, all kinds of tea bags, Magnum in the refrigerator, and all kinds of snacks, standing in a row with the boss while eating and chatting.

As a working girl who has worked in two Fortune 500 foreign companies, I think I have a good say in this issue, whether you have worked in a foreign company or not.

IBM international business machine co., ltd

After studying in Australia, I got my first job in IBM International Business Machines Co., Ltd., a US-funded fortune 500 company. What I do is IT service helpdesk, a technical support job, more precisely, English telephone customer service, answering technical consultation calls from all over the world, and then conveying technical problems to the corresponding technical team of IBM to solve. Therefore, this job requires good English listening, speaking and writing skills. After all, to answer an English phone call, you need to have good English listening, understand the questions raised by customers, then prescribe the right medicine, give a preliminary diagnosis answer in fluent spoken English, and then write an English email through the internal system to convey it to the corresponding technical team. In addition, it also includes the follow-up of the problem and the feedback to the customer until the problem is completely solved. Because you have to answer telephone inquiries from end users all over the world, this job is actually three shifts, which requires you to work at night. Generally speaking, the corporate culture of American capital is very free and relaxed, everything emphasizes independence, and there will be punching in and out of work. There will also be lively and relaxed departmental team building activities. We are all young people of similar age and are very happy together. At that time, I was looking forward to going to work every day because I was very happy to work with my colleagues.

Wal-Mart China Head Office

The second job is to work in Wal-Mart's headquarters in China, as an assistant to an executive of a foreign company, and also a Fortune 500 American company. This job is typical of eight to five, taking an hour off at noon and punching in and out every day. This job has the longest experience. Wal-Mart is a company that will make you feel that you have found a big family. Working here will give you a sense of collective belonging and honor. My headquarters has nearly 3000 employees, occupying two office buildings. The company is huge and has many departments. I remember there are more than a dozen departments. This is a foreign company with a large number of employees. The most impressive thing is that there is an annual national preparatory meeting around March every year, which is usually prepared by colleagues in the marketing department six months in advance, because this meeting generally needs the participation of store managers, management and outstanding employees from all over the country. The meeting usually lasts for about three or four days, and large suppliers of Wal-Mart will also attend the meeting to showcase their products. If you can attend such a meeting, it is also the pride of everyone at Wal-Mart.

My favorite foreign company

During my work in a foreign company, I also met some excellent foreign companies because of my working relationship. What impressed me most was Procter & Gamble. As we all know, P&G is the largest consumer goods company in China, such as Rejoice, Shufujia, Tide and Pampers. Why do you like this company? Because this company is the most important supplier of Wal-Mart. At that time, because of the cooperation of the project, we often had meetings, communication and exchanges with P&G people. Their overall mental outlook, fluent English and professional quality are impressive. This is a group of foreign white-collar workers with the best quality I have ever seen except my company Procter & Gamble.

I work in a fortune 500 company, and I don't need to punch in. My personnel rights are relatively independent, my direct leadership is relatively weak, and my market expenses are strictly controlled. It often happens that you are a superior or a colleague at the same level. Compare and protect the normal circulation of information. The salary is basically one grade higher than the same level in China, and the travel allowance will be two grades. Basically do not work overtime and rest regularly. It is extremely cautious to lay off employees, so it is unnecessary to talk about compensation, just give it directly. There will be compensation if you leave your job. Wage increase, every year, different contributions, different gears.

I have worked in a foreign company for three years, and there is no nine to five. Everyone has his own responsibility, do his own job and do what he likes, and the leader will not say anything about you. No overtime, no punching. But I usually reply to emails occasionally on weekends. Relatively speaking, it is more relaxed and free. Personnel is also relatively simple, there is no intrigue, and everyone is busy.

Worked for 3m China Co., Ltd., a Fortune 500 American-funded enterprise. The working atmosphere is very relaxed, completely self-conscious, and you don't punch in at work. The company goes to work at 8: 30. I usually arrive at 8: 40 and never worry about being late. Computers are notebooks, each with its own password, and the computer software is foreign.

After graduating from college, I worked in a foreign company, three before and after, 15+, Europe and America. Thank you very much for so many years of work experience, and I really learned a lot. In particular, every leader has taught me a lot and is very level. Good corporate culture, good atmosphere, result-oriented, advocating respect for integrity and compliance, democracy and full discussion of issues.

Engaged in the IT industry for more than 20 years, and worked in various types of enterprises such as Taiwan-funded, American-funded, Japanese-funded, fake American-funded, public institutions and Chinese-funded. Here, I will gather them according to my employment order.

Taiwan Province investment

I just graduated from university, and just after 2000, I happened to meet a Taiwan Province investor who came to Changsha to set up a branch, so I went there and took up my post after three rounds of interviews. After two and a half years, the company has a good atmosphere and the boss is generous.

Taiwan-funded enterprises have a tradition of eating tails every Spring Festival. At this time, the boss will issue a red envelope, which is very big, but it must be in the form of a live lottery. There are many red envelopes, but everyone should have one, except cadres. They can't take part in the lucky draw. Therefore, the new year's eve dinner at the end of the tooth is particularly lively. But it's not good at all The boss in Taiwan Province Province is very good at drinking, and everyone will propose a toast. No matter what your status is, the boss will have a drink, and the employees can only have one drink. After the annual meeting, people who drink badly will definitely throw up.

Besides, I'm really tired at work. Our projects are all outsourced from Taiwan Province Province, and we have plans every month, and the plans are basically rough estimates. Most of the tasks in a month can be completed in about 20 days, so at that time I couldn't understand why some people said that programmers were under great pressure. What is particularly bad is that the company has no fixed wage increase regulations and must take the initiative to talk to the boss.

Later, due to some political factors, the company slowly failed, mainly because there was no task there and it had to quit.

American capital

After leaving my former company, I was lucky enough to meet an American company in the same office building. Their size is about 200 people. The first impression is that they attach great importance to the contract. As long as the interview is successful, the contract will be recognized!

The day after I passed the interview, I was hospitalized for a week because of gastroenteritis. I thought it would be ruined. Results HR was still very concerned about condolences and asked about the situation during hospitalization. After leaving the hospital, I also offered to extend my working hours for another week and let me rest at home. I was very moved at that time.

American capital is very disciplined. It is clear who does what and who is responsible for what. They don't need you to be a full-stack engineer, just do your own thing. Planning is also very strong. If the plan is finished tomorrow, you must finish it tomorrow. Fortunately, there is usually plenty of time. Besides, I don't think I care much about teamwork. For example, the tasks of several other people in a project have been completed, and only one person has been delayed. According to the practice of domestic enterprises, the whole team is generally required to work overtime with him, and then the joint debugging will be carried out immediately. However, American capital is different. Someone is dragging his feet, and he works overtime alone. As for the joint debugging time of the whole project, he will bear the responsibility, and others have no obligation to help.

The company has afternoon tea, which is the first time I have seen a company with afternoon tea, and it is distributed to everyone's desk by the administration, so there is no need to plunder it. There are fruits, cakes and definitely a bottle of drinks.

But the disadvantage is that the company has many tasks, which is not as easy as before. Once completed, there will be new tasks, and there will be few gaps between tasks. Paddling is impossible. But the company does not advocate overtime, and it does rarely work overtime. The overtime pay is twice that of an hour! In addition, writing work summary emails every day is really annoying. Also, you do the task, the leader only cares about the result, how to do it is your business, and no one helps you. I really can't solve the problem, so I can only ask for help through my personal relationship with my colleagues. It is obvious that if it is put forward at the meeting, it will be despised by the leaders and affect personal promotion.

I also worked in this company for almost three years, until my friend poached me and went to the next one.

Public institutions

A friend accidentally took over a big government project. In order to avoid the trouble caused by bidding, a temporary organization was set up to do technical work. However, our technology has not been compiled, and it is still a contract worker. Only a few big leaders have it.

Doing this project is the most comfortable experience in my life, no one!

Arrive at work on 10 in the morning, take a nap with other units at noon (although it is a public institution, our office is also in the government building), and you can sleep until 2: 30 in the afternoon. Then I got off work at half past five. Never work overtime!

If you have something at home, just say hello and don't ask for leave. Administration is easy to talk to, and leaders are more easy to talk to.

The project is planned, but there is enough time! Even if it is overdue (in this state of work, it is impossible not to be overdue), just make a new plan. The work is not difficult, most of the development tasks are actually outsourced to another company, and we are only responsible for the core design.

But it is not without its shortcomings. For example, if you need to train civil servants, sometimes you will be annoyed by their brilliant ideas, and their needs are often repetitive. As mentioned above, the successor will deny it. Teach them to use the system for a long time and they won't learn it. If they can't use it themselves, they will say that the system is not well done. In addition, there is basically no salary increase, so you can come in as much as you want. There are not many year-end awards, but the material benefits are the same as those of civil servants. On holidays, big bags and small bags are taken home.

To tell the truth, I had hoped to work here all my life, and the leaders also said that in the future, your leaders will be prepared, but people are not as good as heaven. The director who carried out this project before was promoted and transferred. The new director was silent for half a year. Half a year later, he suddenly announced a comprehensive upgrade of the system and invited tenders for the whole society. Then our unit became redundant. It didn't take long to dissolve, and those who didn't prepare were dismissed without any compensation.

Fake American capital

Fake American capital means that the boss is from China, and China shares account for the vast majority. There may or may not be American capital, and more importantly, the boss has been preaching his corporate culture in Europe and America.

Because of unemployment, I entered such a company without much consideration. I really regret it. I came out six months ago, and for the first time in my life, I went to the labor department for a lawsuit and asked for my salary.

That's about it. The company is still very large, with more than 500 people, located in the provincial capital city, mainly engaged in Canadian telecom service outsourcing. The business of the company is quite good. The first thing to do when you go in, HR is to let you have an English name, and you must say an English name in your daily address. What is the name of the whole company as a result? Larry, Kevin, Echo, Tom, Tony, I have done it at least in the real American capital. As long as I don't communicate with English customers, the company is not forced to give myself an English name, but here is a hard rule, saying it is the company's corporate culture. There is afternoon tea, which is usually some fruits on the table. If you want to eat, you can get it yourself. The company's annual fixed increase 10% is still going, I can't remember clearly, but KPI should also be considered. If it's too low, it won't increase a penny.

There are really not many advantages. There are many shortcomings, which are the reasons for my voluntary resignation, leading to the boss's revenge.

Often work overtime, and it's midnight 1~2, usually for meetings with Canadian customers. Because it's daytime working hours there, you have to accommodate others. Although you can reimburse the taxi fare when you go home at night, you must prepare your own invoice. Taxi tickets are not accepted, nor are invoices for eating out. In fact, this is blocking everyone's window for reimbursement of travel expenses. Anyway, the financial requirements can't produce a "qualified" invoice. Later, the finance department made it clear that you can go to Dingwangtai to buy these "invoices". Are you kidding? In order to reimburse the overtime taxi fare, employees have to pay for their own invoices.

Because the boss loves basketball very much, the company holds basketball games irregularly after work, requiring all employees to participate, and they must wear team uniforms and deduct them directly from their wages. I didn't even pass the probation period, and I didn't get my first month's salary, so I began to deduct money. Isn't it wonderful?

In my second month in the company, my computer broke down. As a result, the administrator said that you moved the computer to the computer city to repair it. Although it felt great, I went anyway. As a result, at the meeting the next day, the project manager directly deducted my KPI and said that the task was not completed yesterday. I said it was my fault that the computer crashed, and the project manager said, "Even if it is an objective reason, it's not over yet." Well, it's all the employees' fault.

In the third month after I joined the company, I became a full member. The former project leader resigned and let me take the lead, but only gave me 200 yuan, saying that he would test my ability. Then, 1 month later, the other two team members left one after another, and I became a one-man army looking for fresh graduates. I haven't figured out my own work, so how can I teach these newcomers to do things? Alexander!

Finally, at the end of the year, I resigned. The big boss of the company took the initiative to interview me for the first time, hoping that I would stay. I insist on leaving my job. He changed his face and said that my sudden departure would bring losses to the company and I would have to pay compensation. I said, I resigned one month in advance according to the contract, and I haven't cashed in yet. My resignation is reasonable and legal! He denied it and threatened to send me a lawyer's letter! Break up in discord!

A month later, I didn't arrange for anyone to hand it over to me. I went straight to HR and said I wouldn't come tomorrow. HR refused to sign, and I left without bothering myself. Then, as expected, I didn't get paid, and I owed for two months (I couldn't talk to my boss last month and didn't get paid). Communication failed, and I went to the labor camp. It took two months to go to court to get my salary back. A software company with more than 500 people is so shameless for the first time in life.

Japanese capital

Later, there was a Japanese company in the department store in front of my house, and I was lucky enough to be interviewed.

I saw many netizens say that Japanese capital is good at exploiting people. I was still a little scared when I went, but I couldn't do anything for my own life. Really going to work is not the same thing at all, it is really similar to the previous institutions.

Japanese capital is very humanized, and daily communication is polite and respectful. There is nothing to deliberately make things difficult for leave. HR will also call for condolences when he is sick. I remember a colleague in a non-leadership position was hospitalized and HR also sent a fruit basket.

The intensity of work is not great. To be honest, the energy spent on planning is really far greater than the energy spent on actual development. There is a meeting every day, and people who open it are a little tired. Work is also to be a daily newspaper. The development efficiency is very low, and many things have to go through the process. For example, if you add a field to the data table, you send an email to the project supervisor first, then the supervisor signs it and forwards it to DBA. The DBA agrees to forward the email to the management for filing, and the management will reply to the DBA only after the filing is successful. This time, it can be changed. But all three people are in the same office except the manager who is in Japan. Such a simple thing will take more than a day to realize. However, just happy and relaxed.

In daily work, the hierarchy of Japanese capital is very heavy, so you must take the initiative to greet your superiors. If you are the general manager in such a high position, you must also stop and bow. Afternoon tea, the quality of afternoon tea distributed by people in different positions is different. For example, the coffee made by the coffee machine is for the boss, and the average employee can only drink instant coffee.

But overall, it's not bad. I'm quite satisfied. If my friend hadn't asked me to be a technical manager in a private enterprise, I'm afraid I would have been there all the time.

As for Chinese private enterprises, even large enterprises, there is nothing to say. As we all know, they are similar and there is no difference. Only when you are in management will you be relatively comfortable. Programmers are squeezed.

Wandering foreign enterprises 10 years+. My first job after graduation was as an English teacher in a foreign training institution, and I got an Offer from the top 500. I jumped up with joy and ran to the tire giant. I left my job after five years, leaving all thanks. I met good leaders and colleagues, which made my next step. Then I joined a well-known domestic software company and a joint venture with Japan. Don't like corporate culture, give up decisively. Currently working in a foreign company in Canada, the work intensity is normal, from 9 am to 5: 30 pm, the salary is average but the humanistic environment is good. I plan to stop tossing in the near future.

When I graduated from my master's degree, I accidentally worked in an American-funded foreign company for three years.

As a century-old enterprise, although it is not as good as the top 500 in the world as a whole, it has reached the industry average standard of foreign companies. The first is the humanized company atmosphere, no need to punch in and out of work, flexible eight-hour working system, nine to five, and sometimes you can apply for working from home. You are generally not allowed to work overtime unless the project requires it. The hierarchy is not as clear as that of state-owned enterprises. Don't take sides with factions, don't worry about being scolded by the boss or manager for saying something wrong, and don't kiss up to the boss. Everyone is more open-minded and can speak freely.

Compared with state-owned enterprises, the welfare may be a little worse, but what should be given will still be satisfied as much as possible. Five insurances and one gold are paid according to the highest standard, commercial medical insurance, double salary at the end of the year, year-end bonus is not mentioned, and foreign companies come standard. Colleagues who need to travel frequently can apply for telephone subsidies and transportation subsidies. They have 15 days of annual leave and 10 days of paid sick leave as soon as they join the company. Cumulative growth is based on years of employment. Although the salary is not enough, it is more than enough.

Coffee machines, drinks and snacks are nothing. Usually there will be a happy hour every month, and colleagues will drink and eat strings to exchange feelings. Weekly badminton activities encourage colleagues to exercise and keep healthy. Sometimes special activities are organized, such as cocktail tasting, beach house carnival and company anniversary celebration. Our annual meeting is a typical American style, and we seldom eat Chinese tables. We usually find a bar to book a venue, eat and drink, draw money and have fun together.

Work is also more free. You can finish the task assigned to you in your own way within the specified time, or you can be allowed to try and make mistakes. The relationship between colleagues is relatively simple. Without office politics, as long as you do your job well, everyone will be safe and happy. The company also attaches great importance to the growth of employees, and will provide regular training and some internal courses to give you opportunities for growth. Try not to talk about work outside of work. No one will bother you outside of work unless it is urgent. Generally speaking, the atmosphere of foreign companies and my free and easy personality also match, emphasizing the balance between work and life.

The shortcomings of foreign companies are also obvious. Most of my colleagues are middle-aged people who have given birth and worked for many years. For them, foreign companies provide a stable working environment. Working hours from nine to five allow them to balance work and family and have time to spend with their children. After getting used to this environment, it is difficult to adapt to other competitive and challenging jobs. Boiling frogs in warm water, the advantages of foreign companies are gradually weakening. Wages are not as good as fast-growing companies like Huawei and Tencent, and benefits are not as stable as state-owned enterprises. If the performance is not good, various budgets will be cut. I feel that after working in a foreign company for a long time, I will actually become more and more lazy, too lazy to learn new things, too lazy to contact challenging new things, and there will not be much self-improvement.

Young people can come to foreign companies to experience a different working atmosphere, but I think it is more necessary to work hard, and maybe the outside world is more exciting.
