1. Ready
Before installing the keel of the sports wood floor, tools and materials, such as angle pliers, drills, rulers, hammers and screws, need to be prepared. Also measure the length, width and height of the room to ensure the correct size and layout of the keel.
2. Determine the keel spacing
Keels of sports wood floors usually need to be arranged at standard intervals. This spacing is usually 4 feet (about 1.2 meters), but it may be different in practical application. Before arranging the keels, you need to measure the width and length of the room, and then divide it by the standard spacing to determine how many keels are needed. If the length or width of your room is not a multiple of the standard spacing, it is best to leave a small space in the corner and fill these spaces with waterproof gland material if necessary.
3. Install the keel
Once you have determined the spacing of the keels and made the floor plan, you can start to install the keels. First, fix the keel on the wall in the corner of the room with angle pliers. Then, fix the keel in the center of the room with a drill. When fixing keels, it is best to adopt the method of cross-fixing, that is, each keel is cross-fixed above or below the other keel. This can improve the stability and structural strength of the keel and prevent the sports wood floor from moving down or deforming.
4. Check the installation quality
After the keel is installed, it needs to be inspected to ensure that it meets the standard requirements. First of all, check whether the keel spacing is correct, whether the keel position is horizontal and whether there is looseness. Secondly, check whether the tightness of the screws is appropriate. If it is too tight, the keel may be broken, and if it is too loose, the surface of the sports wood floor may be loose. Finally, by gently jumping, observe whether the keel has obvious deformation or shaking. If there is any abnormality, it needs to be adjusted or reinstalled.
Generally speaking, the installation method of the keel of the sports wood floor is relatively simple, and the key is to arrange the installation according to the standard requirements and strictly control the installation quality. This can ensure the stability and durability of the floor and provide a safer and more comfortable place for activities.
