Rich sports experience, green lawns, tents and camping have transformed hongkou football stadium into a "children's sports paradise". Since July, 2023, a children's and teenagers' theme fitness carnival (Shanghai venue) has been held in hongkou football stadium and the off-site square, with the participation of nearly 1,000 students and their parents.

Hongkou football stadium is the first professional football field in China, and was once the home of Shanghai Shenhua Football Club of China Football Association Super League. Hongkou football stadium/KLOC-0 started construction on February 22, 1998, and/KLOC-0 was completed on February 22, 1999, and officially opened on March 4 of the same year. The total construction area is 72,900 square meters and the audience seats are 35,000.
