Formerly known as the Armored Forces Engineering Department of Harbin Institute of Military Engineering, the College was expanded to Xi 'an Armored Forces Engineering College in 196 1 and moved to Beijing in 1969. It is the highest institution in our army to train engineering and technical officers and commanding officers of armored mechanized units.
