Hornbills like to nest in caves, especially in tree holes. Except for two kinds of terrestrial hornbills, many hornbills find a hole to make a nest, and then the female goes in first, and then the male seals the hole with mud, leaving only a small hole to send food in. When a female hatches a bird, she will chisel through the mud wall. However, for the safety of the bird, it may seal the nest again.
