Revealing another identity of Pu Songling, a tea scientist in Qing Dynasty
Strange Tales from a Lonely Studio is not the only representative work of Pu Songling who was frustrated in the imperial examination. His research on China tea and health preservation is in place. He was one of the few tea experts in northern China at that time. Pu Songling's Book of Medicine Worship focuses on the health and fitness of tea medicine.

Yan Yan, he is a storyteller. I am lucky to be in Changwei area with this Nobel Prize winner. The two families are only more than 20 miles apart, and many customs are similar. For example, telling stories in my hometown Wei County (now Weifang) is called telling stories, and listening to others telling stories is an exciting entertainment in my memory.

In the village, when I have nothing to do during the slack season, I will listen to the old people in groups of three or five. Now think about it, the old people are actually talking about chapters and fragments of some novels, including the wisdom in Three Heroes and Five Righteousness, The Water Margin and The Romance of the Three Kingdoms, the affairs of men and women in A Dream of Red Mansions and Jin Ping Mei, and the banshee in The Romance of Ghosts and Ghosts and Strange Stories from a Lonely Studio. At that time, these books were banned, and rural children were rarely seen. In that era when entertainment life was very poor, word of mouth was a very important means of communication. The storytellers are all people who have been abroad. They don't necessarily have any culture, nor do they necessarily read these books. It is estimated that they also listen to other people's stories, and they will keep them in mind when they hear more. There is a neighbor, and I should call her mother (grandmother) according to the generation. Her surname is Cai, and people in the village are used to calling her "sigh" regardless of age. She sighs a lot and her feet are big, which is different for people her age. She hung a photo of herself when she was young, which is still in color, attracting many people to see it. Looking back now, I vaguely remember that sighing was different when I was young. Of course, she has endless reasons. When I came home this year, I talked to my nephew about it. He is almost 20 years old, and he still remembers it clearly. This shows how much the story of sighing has influenced us.

Exclamation is the first vivid, but the voice is not loud but fascinating; Second, the continuity is strong, saying that there is no interruption at most nights; Third, before making a pot of jasmine tea, smell the jasmine fragrance and listen to what Shu's mother said. In the cold countryside, it is really a torch to warm the heart and spleen. So every night, so many people in her family come to listen to Shu's story. Her life is not smooth. She has no children of her own. She adopted a little girl and married a foreign village when she grew up. Sigh, who is old, follow her daughter. It is said that she has been dead for several years.

When driving through Zichuan, I visited Pu Songling's old house, the story king. I remember that Shu's favorite story is Strange Tales from a Lonely Studio. Sighed that she made a pot of tea and drank it herself. She likes to say that children can't drink tea and smoke. Pu Songling, on the other hand, is at the edge of Liuquan at the head of Pujiazhuang village in his hometown. Every hot day, he sets up a teapot stand for passers-by to drink tea. He won't let people drink tea for nothing, no matter where they come from. If you want to drink tea, you must tell something you have seen or heard, or an anecdote about your hometown. In the hot sun, passers-by who have traveled long distances are already thirsty. When they saw Liu Quan's tea, they didn't even catch their breath, so they took the bowl and drank it. However, Pu Songling won't let people who don't tell stories drink. There is really no story to tell. Passers-by will make up things, such as ghosts and gods, banshees, make up stories about heaven and earth, and run after drinking enough tea. How did Strange Tales from a Lonely Studio come from? Pu Songling bought it with tea. Of course, passers-by who drink tea can only talk about some materials, and ultimately it is up to Pu Songling to make flowers. Pu Songling failed in the imperial examination. Although he studied hard, he tried again and again. When he was unhappy, he put all his thoughts on the book Strange Tales from a Lonely Studio. Many things happen. In his later years, Pu Songling finally achieved something. The book Loneliness and Anger is not easy to meet readers. I don't know how much Mr. Pu Songling, a teacher, spent on tea, nor how many passers-by drank his tea. A great Strange Tales from a Lonely Studio was born in a tea stall near Liu Quan.

Ma Ruifang, a master of literature and history, said that Pu Songling is the king of short stories in the world, and should have won the Nobel Prize for Mo Yan first, but the Nobel Prize came late, otherwise there would have been two Nobel Prize winners in Shandong. I remember that on a drizzly morning in the spring of 20 10, Mr. Ma Ruifang, Mr. Niu Yunqing, Mr. Wang and Mr. Xu came to Liu Quan, the birthplace of Strange Tales from a Lonely Studio, to talk about the upcoming World Cup. With a faint fairy tale color, everyone talked about the World Cup with great interest, which contributed to the birth of the Qilu Evening News Liaozhai World Cup that summer. I call myself a modern version of Strange Tales from a Lonely Studio.

In fact, Strange Tales from a Lonely Studio is not the only representative work of Pu Songling who was frustrated in the imperial examination. His research on China tea and health preservation is in place. He was one of the few tea experts in northern China at that time. Pu Songling's Book of Medicine Worship focuses on the health and fitness of tea medicine. He said that chrysanthemum has the effects of nourishing liver and kidney, clearing away heat and improving eyesight, and resisting aging. Mulberry leaves can dispel wind and heat, moisten liver, lung and kidney, improve eyesight and prolong life. Loquat leaves are warm and bitter, and can clear lung and reduce qi. He mixed these things with honey and washed them with hot water, just like drinking tea. He insists on it every day and the effect is obvious. You can also brew the three together with honey, and the four are integrated and complement each other. Pu Songling tea placed in Liu Quan is probably such medicinal tea. After repeated attempts, he didn't have much money to buy tea, so he began to plant trees and chrysanthemums in the yard to attract bees to collect flowers and make honey, and then served tea to guests. Pu Songling, who was depressed all his life and came from a poor family, probably insisted on drinking his own herbal tea until he was 75 years old.
