The predecessor of Fengcheng Middle School is the junior middle school class of County Bayi School founded by 1970. February 1972 was renamed as "Lianjiang County Chengguan Middle School", and August 1980 was renamed as "Lianjiang County No.9 Middle School". Lianjiang No.9 Middle School was divided into Lianjiang Vocational High School and Lianjiang Vocational High School on June 1992.

After several generations from Phoenix to China, the school has honed its motto of "inspiring, learning, mindfulness and fraternity", cultivated its excellent school spirit of "strictness, diligence, struggle and innovation", and formed its school-running thought of "learning from each other's strengths and seeking innovation" and its educational thought of "student-oriented, all-round development". Since the new curriculum reform, the school has adhered to the school-running philosophy of "building a school with quality, developing a school with talents, strengthening the school with innovation, building a school with culture, and honoring the school with harmony", carried forward the spirit of "patriotism, democracy, harmony, seeking truth and being pragmatic, and pioneering and innovative", made positive progress, and strived to improve the quality of education and teaching year by year. The school has successively won the honorary titles of "National Key Archery School", "Municipal Advanced School of Subject Experiment", "County Civilized School", "Advanced Unit of Education Quality Project" and "Advanced Unit of Junior Middle School Education and Teaching Quality in Lianjiang County".

There are 36 classes in the school, with nearly 2000 students and 24 teachers/kloc-0, including 24 senior middle school teachers, 86 first-class teachers and more than 30 key teachers at or above the municipal level. The school has a library, a staff reading room, a student reading room, a multimedia classroom, a teacher's computer lesson preparation room, a language laboratory, an art workshop, a biology laboratory, a staff activity room and a gym, two computer classrooms, three physical and chemical laboratories, an archery range and a basketball court with lights.
